My wife, her two friends, and three kids dined at Naked Fish — I was the one paying for the entire meal. Everyone at our table received their food except me. I ordered two items: a unagi (eel) nigiri and a sushi roll. What I was served was raw eel — which, for anyone who knows sushi, is not only incorrect but potentially dangerous, since eel must be cooked to be safe for consumption. I sent it back immediately.
To make matters worse, they charged me $22 for that single piece of unagi — despite it being listed on the menu as $10. No explanation, no apology, just a silent overcharge.
As for the second item, the sushi roll? It never arrived. I waited patiently while the entire table finished their meals. After 20 minutes of nothing, I had to cancel it.
So to recap:
I paid for a meal where everyone got their food except me
I was served something inedible and unsafe
I got overcharged
I never received my second dish
I left this restaurant hungry, overbilled, and extremely disappointed.
I would strongly recommend avoiding Naked Fish — especially if you value safe food, honest pricing, and basic customer service. I’ll be following up to request a refund, and I hope they take some accountability for this experience.
Nice friendly atmosphere as well. Asha served us… she was the best.
However, everything else was just meh. Due to some transient health reasons, we had to eat cooked meat today, but oh Lord, that was a bad decision. All the chicken dishes had overcooked chicken thigh. We couldn’t believe any chef could fail on chicken thigh?! It was so tasteless and dry.
– Salmon roll: 5/5*. Great! They know their sushi. Not comparable to the finest options in the big cities, but it was as good as it could get in this region.
– Gyoza: 4/5*. Not bad. At least the meat was juicy, but deep fried wrap was too thick. At $18, it did not deliver. We’d rather take the frozen Gyoza from Costco.
– Chicken udon: 2/5*. Chicken thigh was dry and tasteless. Broth had the right undertone but too much shiitake mushroom which was so strong.
– Coconut curry with chicken: 3/5*. Authentic Japanese curry, but the chicken thigh was again dry and tasteless.
Service and vibe were definitely 5/5*!
In conclusion, just eat their raw fish. We wished they could have just focused their menu on sashimi, rolls and nigiri dishes only and forget other cooked dishes.
