Getting a table was almost impossible; the wait easily went beyond an hour. I decided to do takeout just to save time, but even that took close to 45 minutes. For a simple pizza and salad order, that’s excessive. The bruschetta salad we ordered was missing some ingredients entirely, which made it feel careless and rushed.
To be fair, the pizza itself was pretty good — nice crust and flavor — but no food is worth that level of waiting, confusion, and attitude. It’s a shame because the place has potential, but right now, it’s run with very poor service and an unwelcoming tone.
The pizza itself reminds me of the bustling pizzerias I visited while living in Northern Italy — perfectly crisp crust, flavorful sauce, and quality toppings that actually taste fresh. This trip, I shared a 16-inch Village Special, and it was absolutely satisfying.
Village Pizzeria has become a tradition for me — the kind of place that feels both familiar and special every time I visit.
Will definitely be back.
We got seated very quickly in the 21+ section which appears to be most of the restaurant. The wait and restaurant staff were excellent and attentive.
The space is impressive with a full bar and panoramic views. Service was very slow even thou we just order slices and wine, which we did not mind due to the lovely atmosphere and expansive views. Would return again and maybe try one of the custom pizzas from the menu.
When I saw “Be nice or leave” on the counter, my expectations went up. I assumed the service would match the attitude. It didn’t.
We were told the wait time was 35 minutes. My kid was starving and wanted pizza, so we stayed. That turned into over an hour, and every time I asked for an update, the host repeated the same line: “another 30 minutes.”
The worst part? There were clearly empty tables inside, while people who came after us were being seated and having their names called. Unless those folks had been waiting since morning, this was either complete incompetence or deliberate disregard.
Maybe the food is great — I wouldn’t know, because we never got to try it. But the service was disorganized, misleading, and rude. Politeness and basic professionalism are apparently optional here, despite the slogan on the counter.
If you’re going to display “Be nice or leave,” you might want to start by practicing it.
What really disappointed us, though, was the policy on water. Indoor guests were given free water, but because we were sitting outside, we were told it would be $2 per cup. This just feels unfair. If you’re a paying guest dining at the restaurant—regardless of where you’re seated—basic water should be provided at no charge.
This policy really soured an otherwise good experience.
