I felt like I just walked into 1989, but not in a good way. This place is hard to explain. I was there within an hour of closing and I could barley taste my food thanks to all the cleaning products already being deployed. As in, I had to drive with my windows down (in winter) to try to get the smell off of me. They have a salad bar. It is a little mobile thing. Service was a little strange. The servers seemed more interested in dropping everything when their boss summoned vs. Finishing taking an order. Probably not a good sign. Anyhow, not sure I would come back, but maybe it is a better experience earlier in the night. It appears they have beer.and alcohol too.

I’ve been going to this place since I was a kid and it’s always a cheap, convenient, classic. I just ordered the french onion soup and salad bar this time. French onion soup was good. Salad bar was a bit underwhelming but I liked the bean salad and the salad bar setup.

OK, so I officially have had their pumpkin pancakes and I have to say out of all the restaurants and then Lehigh Valley they are now number one very fresh. You don’t even need syrup on them. That’s how good and sweet they are.!

This place made me violently ill.
Two hours after eating here yesterday, I threw up, but wasn’t able to completely purge the meal from my stomach. Now at eight hours the diarrhea kicked in accompanied by more vomiting.
For the record, I ordered the 8oz NY steak (which was overcooked by a lot), cream of potato soup, and baked beans.
This experience was unusual for me, as I can’t remember the last time I’ve fallen ill from food, and that’s coming from a very adventurous eater! It served as a harsh reminder of why I haven’t dined here in nearly a decade.

I ate at the Palace years ago but frequently had intestinal difficulties after the meal. So, I stopped going there for food. After years passed, my family (minus me) went there for breakfast the morning after Christmas. After some hours passed, they vomited. A lot. Not fun. I will never return to the Palace. Neither will they. Merry Christmas. One star only. The wait staff are courteous and attentive and do a good job. They deserve more stars, but if the food makes you vomit, it is not worth one star.
