We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary with dinner at Garden Cafe for the first time on a Thursday night, and it could not have been a better choice. The restaurant is absolutely charming—when you walk in, you’re greeted by a cozy gift shop filled with unique and cute items that set the perfect tone for the evening.
We were a party of two and started our meal with the Pimento Cheese Poppers and Bacon Potato Soup—both were delicious and full of flavor. For our entrées, we ordered the Sirloin and the Salmon dish, and wow…both were outstanding! Perfectly prepared and beautifully presented.
For dessert, we shared the Buttermilk Pie and Bourbon Pecan Pie (no picture this time, we couldn’t resist digging in right away). Both were absolutely incredible—sweet, rich, and the perfect way to end our anniversary dinner.
I was so impressed with the Garden Cafe. From start to finish, they did everything right to make us feel welcome and happy. We’re already looking forward to coming back again soon!

Absolutely exquisite setting for lunch or dinner. The food and service is phenomenal. I had the Fried Green Tomatoes BLT. The Absolute Best BLT I have ever had. Lettuce, applewood bacon, jalapeno mayo on a grilled country butter top. Perfection! Thank you Logan Snyder of TotalBC for suggesting this restaurant. I shall return!

A cute little hidden gem! This was my first time visiting and I was not disappointed I got the mountain Boone chicken and it was really good. Our waitress Emily was sweet and efficient. The food runner was nice. The hostesses when we first arrived welcomed us warmly and made little small talk while we waited for our table. The food was on the more expensive side so plan accordingly but other than that I had a great experience!

Must try the crab cake appetizer! Quesadillas, tenderloin, salads, all good. Reasonably priced wine and cocktails. Great service and cute shop.

I ate dinner at the Garden Cafe for the first time on a Friday night, and I loved it. This restaurant is so charming. When you enter the Garden Cafe, you walk into a gift shop with many cute items. We were a party of four, and we started off with the Fried Garden, which is a basket of fried green beans with a Cajun ranch sauce. They were so delicious. We also shared the chips with Gorgonzola cheese. I had their garden salad, which was a generous portion. For my meal, I had the Porter House Pork Chop, and it has a bourbon maple glaze on it. Wow, it was outstanding. For dessert, we shared the buttermilk pie and bourbon pecan pie. They were both so good. I was so impressed with the Garden Cafe that I look forward to coming back. They do everything right to make their customers happy.

Our company is new to the area, so exploring new food places. The atmosphere is neat with some really interesting decor. We had the filet bites for an appetizer and ordered the Boone Mt chicken wrap and fries. Definitely will be back and especially hit up the fried green beans.

My wife and I have truly fallen in love with this place. On our way out, the owner greeted us warmly, setting the perfect tone for our visit. The staff here is incredibly laid-back and friendly, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It’s our little sanctuary, especially when we can snag one of the cozy booths. The chef consistently delivers exceptional dishes, and I found myself indulging in more food than I ever thought possible. The cheesecake and butter pie were the best I’ve ever tasted, leaving us both blissfully satisfied. I went home feeling as content as I do after a Thanksgiving feast. When you treat your customers with such care and hospitality, success is sure to follow!

My favorite restaurant in York County! I’ve been here twice and it never disappoints. The food is amazing and the service is phenomenal. When I go out to eat, I want to eat something delicious that I couldn’t easily make at home. The food is high quality, affordable and really good. The ambiance is cute and homey with a classy country feel. Perfect for a date night, celebratory dinner or night with friends. Call to make reservations.

Really wanted to love this place! We had a reservation for Saturday lunch. I’d had this place on my list for a while. They had a nice reservation card for our table. Cute store at the front! I think our server was just having a bad day. I feel bad for her for that and understand it happens to all of us sometimes. It’s just unfortunate when it aligns with your first experience at a place as a customer.
She couldn’t remember what we ordered and had to ask twice for our appetizer and lunch order. She got app right, but lunch wrong. I confirmed our order of chicken pecan sandwiches twice, as I could tell she was a bit out of it, flat affect, etc. We got the fried green beans app, which was good! Then she came out with chicken salads and I was like remember we ordered sandwiches and she said, “I wondered why I didn’t know what dressing you wanted” (because we didn’t order any).
She mentioned that the kitchen would be upset with her for her error, and my husband offered to just take the salad, and I did too. She asked if we were sure, and we said yes. Hey, healthier anyway, I guess! The chicken wasn’t hot. It was warm and not too crunchy like we thought it would be. Romaine, canned oranges, chicken, cheese, bacon bits, and onions. Nothing special.
We did like the sides, pasta and potato salad. At the end, she asked if we saved room for dessert, and we kind of looked at each other like, are you kidding? Didn’t want to risk any other wrong orders or spend any more money here today. I think it would have been nice if she had offered a free dessert for her mistake, but like I said, she seemed a bit out of it. I’m sure this doesn’t always happen, but it left a bad impression on our first visit here, and we likely won’t be back.

The high watermark, a fantastic experience every time!
Great for lunch and diner with family and friends, also great for business meetings.
Large tables and usually quiet enough to carry on a conversation.
But most importantly, always great service and a great meal with a creative flair.
Kudos!
