So, date night was a success. My boyfriend decided to surprise me and take me to this adorable gem hidden in Baltimore. In honor of the great poet Edgar Allan Poe, the well decorated bar encapsulated the poem and its many details. The drinks menu and food options complemented each other very well. I was very impressed. An the bartender was an absolute pleasure to interact with that night. Just make sure you save room for dessert because the bartender is going to insist you leave with something sweet. A+

I was very excited to try this place. I was mostly excited about the drink menu. It was a bar so not to very exciting. The waitress and the cocktail was the best part of our experience. The waitress was very friendly. Give us suggestions on food while we were there and for other places while we are in Baltimore. The Black Cat cocktail was Amazing. The meatloaf dinner with mash potatoes, gravy and green beans that was suggested was just okay. The green beens were the best thing on the plate. The atmosphere was chill. It had some cool decor.

If you’re a fan of Edgar Allan Poe, you have to go. But even if you aren’t, the food is so good, it’s worth it. Our party of four ordered all different items, and everyone loved what they got. The themed cocktails were especially good. They were really busy and seemed to be understaffed, but our server kept up pretty well. We had a great time and will definitely go back again.

Dug the place, but just selfishly wish they had Natty Boh. Bartender was chill and recommended me a Zadie’s – which I didn’t hate. Would give it another shot.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Annabelle Lee Tavern! While visiting Baltimore, this is a must see. Beautifully decorated with macabre decor and paintings of Poe and other elements of his famous works such as the raven, and Annabelle Lee herself. Beyond the spooky visual interest, the tavern has a cozy vibe and feel to it. If I was a local, I would absolutely become a bar regular. My “MORBID RUMINATION” cocktail (made with gin, maraschino cherry liquor, gin etc) as well as my espresso martini were out of this world. Jessica was our bartender and server, and she was so knowledgeable about the restaurant, cocktail menu, and absolutely wonderful to chat with. For dinner, I ordered the crab cake sandwich, which came in a bun with lettuce and tomato and a side of sweet potato fries. When in Baltimore it is imperative to get quality crab, and this sandwich truly delivered as it was full of large pieces of lump crab meat with a wonderful flavor. 10/10 evening full of fond memories and delicious food and drink, I can’t wait to return on my next trip!

We had a nice little stop at the Annabel Lee Tavern. It was mid day and the hot summer sun was taking its toll. We stepped into a little shrine to an epic American writer and heart broken man whose legacy seems attached to his poetic despair
Ready to indulge in the experience we were met with their prejudice towards a prefered liquor, so we had copious amounts of water. Which was probably a better choice as we awaited our cheese steak and chicken sandwich
The sweet potatoe fries were among the best we’ve had. The cheese steak had a nice mix of peppers and looked great with obvious cheese action on the top! but failed to wow with flavor and turned into left overs
The chicken sandwich was quite good but ironically the bread was the best part
I’d probably eat there again… if there wasn’t other choices. Still worth a visit if you’re on the fence

If you’re looking for a Poe themed night out or on a date this is the place to go. It’s a dark dimly lit interesting space. You usually will be greeted by a live fire burning outside by the door. We had a reservation for 10 and they accommodated all of us perfectly. Drinks were flowing fast and food was going down and everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the crab cake and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. You wont be disappointed in the food thats for sure.

My wife and I came back to the Annabel Lee Tavern after having been here back in 2017. It hasn’t skipped a beat! My wife got the Annapolis chicken sandwich and loved it, especially the crab dip on top of the chicken. I got the seafood lasagna which was excellent! We also enjoyed our drinks: the Dream and the Mesmeric Revelation were both tasty! And the atmosphere, Edgar Allan Poe theme, and service were awesome. And when the chef comes out and asks you about how you enjoyed your dinner, you know that he’s confident about your answer. All in all, an excellent choice for a dinner and drinks in Baltimore!
