I normally enjoy dining here, but today was disappointing. I was seated at 11:00 and watched three other tables get their food before mine, even though our order was one of the simplest on the menu. After 45 minutes of waiting, we were finally served. The staff claimed the system was down, but that’s hard to believe since other tables that arrived later had no delays. The food itself was good, but the overall experience was frustrating — the reason for my 3-star review.

Amazing Asada Tacos and Horchata. Paid 16$ for 2 tacos and a 32oz drink. Pretty cheap compared to alot of other places. I also got salsa and chips <3

If I could leave zero stars I would. I used to really enjoy this restaurant. In the past, I found a hair in my food and they only offered to remake it, but never offered to take it off of my bill. I gave it another shot, and once again found a hair in my food. Another time, I had a server refuse to allow my friends and I to split a cheese dip, and was very rude about it. Tonight, I decided to give it another chance. I was greeted by a server, named Karla. She took our drink orders, and looked at us like we were stupid the whole time. We asked for our cheese dip on several different occasions and did not receive it until after we got our food. When it became time for me to order my food, I ordered and she explained I could not get shredded chicken without vegetables. When I said “Grilled would be fine”, she looked at me and said “must be the hat” with an attitude. My hat said “God bless America”. Not only does this comment make zero sense, it is also extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I am always a very understanding customer and tip well, but this was extremely rude. I understand she may be having a bad day, but making a comment about my hat, which is making a comment about my religion and country, was completely uncalled for. In the future, I would hope customers would be met with a better attitude and that religion and politics would be left out of the customer experience. Needless to say, I will be taking my business to a different establishment.

We visit El Sombrero every year with a large family group of more that 30 people. El Sombrero does a fantastic job of taking our orders, keeping the checks straight, and getting the food out quickly for that large of a group. The quality of the food is okay – not authentic in anyway but flavorful with a good variety to choose from.

El Sombrero has the best tamales I’ve ever had and their prices can’t be beat. I stop here about once a week to enjoy the tamales, which are topped with chili and melted cheese. With a side guacamole salad and a drink, it’s a full meal, cheaper than most fast food and way better. The service is always great too.

Service was fantastic. Got food really quick. And followed through on my requests. Price was good for steak and chicken fajitas. But it was just mediocre. Not super flavorful. They didn’t blow me away. We sat upstairs which had a cool vibe. You can tell this is a popular local Mexican spot.

We went on the weekend before school started and every restaurant was so busy. I was amazed at how efficient and nice the employees were. In addition, the food came out in a timely manner and was hot and delicious. Well done!
