Reviews
The food was absolutely amazing. The service was professional, warm, and full of good vibes.
Funny moment, the little baguettes were dangerously good. I actually had to tell myself to stop eating them before the main dish arrived.
In the end, I rolled out of the restaurant extremely happy, very full, and already dreaming of coming back.
1. We didn’t receive any emails or calls beforehand to confirm if we had any allergies or to introduce the seasonal menu, which I expected from a place like this.
2. Since there was no prior communication, we only found out during ordering that both guests had to choose the same set menu. I wanted to try something smaller or the creative menu, knowing my own appetite, while my friend wanted the full nine-course meal. Obviously, I couldn’t finish mine and felt like so much food went to waste.
3. We decided to order individual glasses of wine instead of pairing, concerned we wouldn’t finish it all. The sommelier even asked before the main course if we’d like a glass to pair with it, which we agreed to, but by the time the main and dessert arrived, no wine was served at all.
For a dinner that costs 472 CHF per person, the overall experience just wasn’t worth it, especially since we made a special trip to dine here. It was a real letdown.
Pros: nice ambience, clean interior & pleasant
food: very nice, creative and plenty of taste
the team try to accommodate our strict timeframe and were willing to push to get everything in the 2 hour timeframe. They made a nice birthday surprise small chocolate cake as a gift to my husband.
Cons: I was served a glass of rose champagne which I did not like and I sent it back. Wish to mention that I was not given the opportunity to try it but the glass was fully served. I sent it back after one sip and it was fully charged on the bill.
In addition, it took us 5 minutes to chase a team member to bring us more bread. Quite disappointed, having such high expectations from the place.
After the champagne experience, I tried two other wines , by the glass. None of the them were given to test first. I have never encountered this in a restaurant with this kind of level of experience. To mention, we did not take a tasting wine menu with the food (no pairing). Either the sommelier was bothered by my champagne refusal or… no idea. It was quite disappointing. The wine was ok, went ok with the food. However, the experience itself felt uncomfortable, both of us felt like the sommelier thought that he knew better than us what we like and made the decision for us. Isn’t it against policy to give gueste wine without tasting it ??
We were given the chance to go out on the terrace for a smoke. In the back of the terrace, the tables & chairs were not clean. Very strange.
At the end of the meal, we were told that we should go and salute the Chef. Another weird moment, were the Chef was not sure why we were there. In all other places, the Chef takes a moment to say hello, the restaurant staff should not make their guests to go in the kitchen (specifically that we did not ask for this). All in all, my expectations seemed to have been too high vs. the actual experience
We were very well taken cared of.. from A to Z! The staff was very attentive and paid attention to details.
The service was well synchronised and the plates were beautifully presented.
We ordered the surprise menu. The dishes were flavourful and delish. The scallops and uni were divine and the lobster was cooked to perfection.
I told the wait staff that I didn’t have any room for cheese anymore and I very much appreciated that she suggested to bring me sorbet instead, so as not to leave my husband eating the plate of cheese alone.
Overall, we had a lovely dinner and a wonderful experience and we will definitely be returning.
