It was good. The people are very nice. Pretty solid selection of mains and sides, comfort food. We tried a lot of different things. Everything was pretty good, particularly the fried chicken and the two desserts. There are a lot of options for sides, kinda hard to pick just a few

S&S is like going back in time to when America truly was great, food was tasty, and the 80s was not just a happy place in your memory. I walked back in and I was 7 wearing a rainbow bright tee-shirt, jordache jeans and white dress shoes with a pink members only jacket and I was ready to eat. The food was as amazing as the atmosphere which remains unchanged and perfect. I had one of their Great American Favorite’s, Liver and Onions, with the sides carrot salad, squash pudding, a twice baked potato, a roll and a slice of egg custard pie for dessert. Oh man was it GOOD. When I say I was back at my great grandmas house enjoying every moment watching JEM, and listening to Neil Diamond. I was there. If you have not gone to S&S visit, be reminded of what really makes us amazing as Americans, our people, the service was amazing, our food, it was amazing, and a time when things were just a little more simple. Go back in time and let the food take you back too.

Tess once again gave us exceptional table service, and our glasses never went empty.
It’s still one of the few places where you don’t have to break the bank to feed your family and get a belly full.
So if you’re looking for a really fulfilling meal that’s truly fast service, swing in and grab you a plate, there’s so much to choose from.

We went on Thanksgiving day around 12:30 pm. There was no line and we went through the buffet line pretty quick. There was a great selection including Turkey and stuffing and all the regular accompaniments. The food was delicious and well prepared. You select your food, then sit to eat it, and then pay on the way out. I enjoyed it without having to cook or clean up dishes, pots and pans.

Someone took me out for Thanksgiving lunch. Roast Beef, Red Potatoes, grilled onions, lettuce & tomatoes, seasoned Green Beans, and Mexican Corn Bread.

Wonderful food. Well seasoned, clean surroundings, and friendly attentive staff

Veteran friendly as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Nasty, overcooked, overseasoned, sloppy food. Manager arguing with an employee like kids on the playground. Cooks definitely are burnt out and just preparing slop, wasting food. And the servers throw the food on the plate like slop. There were 8 customers seated when I went-7 of us sent food back. . I used to love S&S. Will not get another dime from me.

Fed, fat, full and feeling fine.
The only real cafeteria in the Lowcountry. Serving for decades, with the best chefs producing the best foods. The selection and the service is sure to satisfy. Eat in or take out. Bon appetite!

Either you love cafeteria food or you don’t, and if it’s the latter, don’t bother eating here thinking it will be anything other than classic old-school cafeteria food.

As someone who loves all things vintage and also someone who grew up eating cafeteria food with my family, I was immediately drawn to S&S while staying nearby. Food was good, and exactly what I expected. If you order the value platter it’s a great deal, especially for kids, but if you order a la carte it can add up. In addition to the regular items, they have daily specials. Line service was a bit on the slower side, but our table server, Tess, was super sweet and attentive. Our family had an early dinner at 5pm on a Monday so it was really quiet – not sure if this is how it always is.

Cafeterias like this are a dying breed, so I love to eat at them whenever I can find one. In terms of a retro dining experience, it did not disappoint.

An old school cafeteria. This place has been around as long as I can remember. The food is amazing at a very reasonable price. The service is impeccable to the point your glass is never empty. The staff is very kind and friendly.

This place has been around since I was a kid, and it holds a special place in my heart. I remember coming here after church with my family—it always felt like a comforting tradition, and every visit brings me right back to those childhood memories.

Now that I’m older, I still come regularly, and the food never disappoints. It’s always exactly what I expect: good, hearty, and satisfying. I love the setup where you can pick what you want as you go down the line—it’s fun to build your own perfect plate.

My favorite dish by far is the chopped steak. It’s incredibly tender and full of flavor. I usually pair it with a variety of vegetables, all cooked just right. Honestly, I often end up with more food than I can eat in one sitting, but the leftovers are just as enjoyable the next day.

This isn’t your average cafeteria food—it’s more like having Thanksgiving dinner any time of the year. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and there’s a nostalgic charm to the whole experience. It reminds me of a time when food was simple, delicious, and served with genuine care.

If you haven’t checked this place out yet, do yourself a favor and stop by. It’s comfort food at its best.
