It’s still one of the few places where you don’t have to break the bank to feed your family and get a belly full.
So if you’re looking for a really fulfilling meal that’s truly fast service, swing in and grab you a plate, there’s so much to choose from.
Wonderful food. Well seasoned, clean surroundings, and friendly attentive staff
Veteran friendly as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The only real cafeteria in the Lowcountry. Serving for decades, with the best chefs producing the best foods. The selection and the service is sure to satisfy. Eat in or take out. Bon appetite!
As someone who loves all things vintage and also someone who grew up eating cafeteria food with my family, I was immediately drawn to S&S while staying nearby. Food was good, and exactly what I expected. If you order the value platter it’s a great deal, especially for kids, but if you order a la carte it can add up. In addition to the regular items, they have daily specials. Line service was a bit on the slower side, but our table server, Tess, was super sweet and attentive. Our family had an early dinner at 5pm on a Monday so it was really quiet – not sure if this is how it always is.
Cafeterias like this are a dying breed, so I love to eat at them whenever I can find one. In terms of a retro dining experience, it did not disappoint.
Now that I’m older, I still come regularly, and the food never disappoints. It’s always exactly what I expect: good, hearty, and satisfying. I love the setup where you can pick what you want as you go down the line—it’s fun to build your own perfect plate.
My favorite dish by far is the chopped steak. It’s incredibly tender and full of flavor. I usually pair it with a variety of vegetables, all cooked just right. Honestly, I often end up with more food than I can eat in one sitting, but the leftovers are just as enjoyable the next day.
This isn’t your average cafeteria food—it’s more like having Thanksgiving dinner any time of the year. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and there’s a nostalgic charm to the whole experience. It reminds me of a time when food was simple, delicious, and served with genuine care.
If you haven’t checked this place out yet, do yourself a favor and stop by. It’s comfort food at its best.
