There are two fish kept in a very small, barren tank with no plants, no structure, and visibly poor maintenance. One fish remained almost motionless in a corner the entire time, which can be a sign of stress or inadequate living conditions. The glass is also covered in fingerprints, which makes the whole display look neglected and sad rather than decorative.
Fish are living animals with needs — not ornaments. A properly maintained aquarium can be beautiful, but in its current state this one feels more like unnecessary animal suffering.
My sincere suggestion to the owners: please reconsider this setup. Either maintain the aquarium professionally and appropriately, or rehome the fish to someone who can provide proper care. Even artificial decorations with lighting would likely look better for guests and require far less effort than keeping live animals in poor conditions.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because this is something that could easily be improved.
A server/ bartender walked past saying you can dine upstairs, while we did mine dining upstairs, we were not given an option. Which was very unaccommodating and distasteful.
Once we got upstairs a bus boy came over to give us there menu and then advise us that the upstairs closes at 9am even though we sat at 8:30pm. It became obvious that everyone there accept one person our server was watching their time and just want to pickup and leave.
I can’t remember our server name even though I had to ask him his name. He wasn’t a bad server, I would just recommend more hospitality training for the entire team.
Food was delicious as always and truthfully the only reason I keep coming back, and the prices aren’t that bad.
Seafood sushi has always been my number one sushi spot, I would just like to see management invest in training their team. A lot of Bahamian will not express their opinion, they just won’t come back.
It would be nice to see a beautiful hostess greeting you at the door.
I also got the soft shell crab ($12), which was a huge letdown. The portion was not sufficient , and it was so oily it was basically inedible. Very disappointing.
The one highlight was the Sandance roll—great flavor
Overall, I’m hesitant to try anything else from the menu. The experience just didn’t match the price point, and left me hungry and frustrated. 3/10 overall
Ordered sashimi sampler and chicken wings appy which were good.
Took 2 hours to get our main courses. Lamb was good per those that ordered, as was the katsu chicken. Tempura shrimp…not so good. Bland, hard, way too much breading. The steak/shrimp and steak/lobster stir fry…not stir fry as we know it. Steak was a strip, uncut to the side. Some mixed veg and overcooked shrimp and lobster in a small pile next to it. Steaks were ordered medium and came out well done. Did not send back as we already waited so long to get them. Steaks were tough, fatty.
Servers were not attentive, sort of walking around randomly stopping by, had to flag them down. They did apologize for the slow service from kitchen.
The passionfruit martini was lousy, mojito very sweet with a maraschino cherry.
Will not return or recommend.
Brisk take-out business.
Parking available.
We have paid 55 USDs for two people
Great portions with friendly staff!
Sure, the menu reflects a fusion blend of both traditional Japanese sushi and crafted hybrid offerings like any other typical waterside eatery in the Caribbean, but the attention to detail, food, and ambiance, especially the room upstairs, is enough for even the most savvy Japan living residents to tell their friends home about…
wanna get cultural? ask to eat upstairs where you’ll find some booths with no chairs… (pictured) yup… on your knees… or rear… luckily, there’s leather cushions…
first time having THAT good of a sashimi, and THAT good of deep fried conch, in the SAME meal… and i’ve eaten lots and lots of both… truly Japan meets the Caribbean…
even the random pina colada ordered on the table, was super impressive… (pictured)
