An excellent Italian restaurant. The carbonara pizza and dessert were authentic and delicious. The staff recommended great red and white wines that paired perfectly with the meal. Service was extremely friendly and welcoming. Many thanks to the team for a wonderful experience.

Booked through The Fork with a 50% off only on food. That was the incentive for trying this place. The service and the ambience was good but the food quality was just ok, nothing stood out. Portions weren’t too big for £15 (although it was more than enough for us as we had starters and it was 50% off). My chocolate fondant didn’t have a gooey core so it was basically a chocolate cake.

Maybe we didn’t choose properly as the restaurant has very good reviews. Charcuterie boards looked amazing. Maybe next time.

Service was good. Both waitresses were nice.

Such a lovely experience this evening. Recommend by a friend, we rightly booked in advance as many walk-ins were turned away during our visit.
Our host Alex was friendly and very knowledgeable about both the food and the wine menu. He shared some stories about his family wineries in Italy and regions in Italy worth visiting.
Taylor the chef did a phenomenal job, the food was
A really pleasant evening with great food & drinks in a cosy, welcoming environment.
Advice, if you fancy Italian in Edinburgh, give Veeno a shout and book in advance!

A Hidden Gem on Rose Street.

My daughter booked a table for Saturday evening, and thank goodness she had as the restaurant was fully booked and turning walk-ins away. The food was fantastic – fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented. The service from Alex and Scarlett was warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming throughout.
Veeno feels like a real hidden gem in the city: cosy atmosphere, excellent food and staff who clearly care about giving guests a great experience. This is my 2nd experience of dining at a Veeno restaurant (previously Bristol) and certainly won’t be my last. Highly recommended.

Alex took our booking over the phone earlier that morning and when we arrived he recalled we had spoken, a small detail but easily forgotten in other restaurants, made you feel very welcomed. He was helpful and knowledgeable about the menu also.

The food was excellent with the baked speck rolled cheese a standout followed by the board where the olive pate and gorgonzola cream complimented the meat and cheese well.

We were there in the afternoon and with a espresso martini and canolli to finish was perfect and not to sweet thankfully

We will be back….

Stopped here for a quick lunch, the food was amazing. I would recommend the Carbonara and affogato. I loved the creamy mushroom pasta and the chocolate fondant as well, they have a few vegetarian options which is pretty nice. Would love to try their pizzas next time. The service was good too!

I booked a dinner at Veeno for a 1 year anniversary with my partner, when we walked in we weren’t too sure how we felt about the place, but that all changed when our server Alex came over to us. He took a lot of time explaining the background of the restaurant, cracked some jokes and was very kind and patient with us. Food was amazing and Alex got us complementary drinks to celebrate our 1 year. When we finished our main, Alex was serving another table a selection of different wine. He explained the background of each wine and what to expect from it, and for a non drinker like myself, he made it very interesting. The atmosphere inside Veeno was amazing, you can definitely tell everyone there loves their jobs and it feels very family like. We then got desert which was very nice as well, and at the end, Alex finished it off by giving us both another complimentary drink for us to try. Service was phenomenal and the food was even better. I couldn’t recommend Veeno more.

Partner and I popped in for a quick drink where we were greeted so warmly and cheerfully by Alex. He told us all about the family vineyards in Sicily and his passion for wine really shone through. We picked our wines and Alex gently recommended an alternative for me which was delicious. We loved the service and wine we booked a table for the following day as we had other arrangements otherwise we would have stayed.
The next day we again were greeted by Alex and made to feel like regulars! We opted for the Quattro Rossi and Quattro bianchi tasting platters. Alex enthusiastically explained each wine and its pairing, he made the experience really enjoyable and fun and definitely not a “stuffy wine snob” experience.
The wines were beautiful and the pairings complimented them perfectly. We also ordered a pizza and large glass of our favourite wine from the tasting.
Would highly recommend a visit even just for a glass like we had originally planned the day before. You find a gem of a place and people like Alex to match who just make the experience top notch! Can’t wait to go back and bring family and friends when next down in Edinburgh!

We were given a Virgin Experience voucher for Veeno and were thoroughly impressed. The cheese and wine pairing was exceptional—without doubt the best we’ve ever experienced. Our server, Alex, was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about wine, especially those from their own vineyard.

We enjoyed it so much that we’ve since gifted a voucher to a friend so they can experience it too.

Well worth a visit.

A few days ago I went to Veeno Edinburgh to meet with a friend and I am happy to say that I will be returning!

The food was absolutely Devine and the atmosphere was so cozy and relaxed.
I opted for the carbonara (which was spectacular) as well as the tiramisu.

However the highlight of my dining experience was Alex, our waiter.

He was always so friendly, offering us insightful food suggestions and was a fountain of knowledge when it came to wine pairings.

He genuinely made my day and went above for us.

If you’re in Edinburgh fancying some Italian, I’d highly recommend you try here.
