I’m extremely picky when it comes to restaurants, so finding a place like this is rare for me. Everything we ordered was amazing, and I’ve included photos of all the dishes because they truly speak for themselves.
I was especially surprised by the pizza. I didn’t expect much from it, but it turned out to be just as outstanding as everything else. This place exceeded my expectations in every way, and I can’t wait to come back.
Our waiter was friendly and accommodating and the upstairs bar area was a great place to hang out and have dinner. Will definitely be becoming regulars at Wellers!
The valentines meal was no exception. This restaurant serves meals that feel right at home in a fine dining menu but at a working man’s budget. Portions are great. This is maybe the best restaurant north of Salt Lake City.
The normal menu is great but the weekly specials I’ve found to be where it’s at.
My only complaint is that the phone is located in the hostess stand at the Ogden location, which on valentines rings non-stop. Being seated near that spot means that dinner conversation is near impossible.
Also your Layton location had mussels on the menu once for an appetizer. Please bring it back.
We loved the decorations, the food, and the service. The chef even came out to make sure everything was to our liking.
I highly recommend you to try Weller’s.
The German Pizza’s flavors were great, but probably would’ve been even better if it hadn’t have cooled to room temp by the time we actually got to eat it.
I understand having new staff, but I explicitly stated I wanted the potato salad (with mayo, apples, peas, etc), but we were given some kind of lettuce salad with apples, who knows what cheese, an interesting vinegrette, and tomatoes (which I’m allergic to); the lettuce salad we were given wasn’t on any of the menus I looked at for either location. Then, we were given a hot potato salad of some kind— also not correct based on their online menu’s description. When a chef finally came out to see what was going on, he informed us that the potato salad we wanted wasn’t a part of their current menu and they had switched to a winter menu. One would think that during a menu update that they’d update all versions of the menu, especially online. Clearly they had most of the ingredients to make this “summer” potato salad, but we ultimately left without a side, and a *lot* of wasted time.
Really bummed that we didn’t get the kind of experience that others rave about, and they could’ve saved everyone involved a lot of time and food waste had they simply trained staff better and had updated menus online (the Ogden menu is still on the “summer” menu as well). Honestly don’t think the pizza is worth another hour-long drive to try them again; it was good, but not THAT good; lol.
The food was amazing — flavorful, fresh, and beautifully made. The restaurant feels warm and cozy, perfect for a relaxing dinner after a long day.
Definitely one of my new favorite spots in Layton. I’ll be coming back for sure!
