My wife and I stopped by for an early dinner, and we were impressed by how clean the restaurant was.
The smash burgers are served ala carte with single to triple patties. The first thing we noticed about the menu is that every additional burger topping is $.35, so your burger, with all of the toppings, would cost several dollars more.
For everything you purchase, there is an upcharge, for additional sauces, toppings etc. a glass of water cost $.25, and they also charge to use a credit card. I hadn’t noticed any notifications for the surcharge to the card, so I was rather surprised.
The burger was decent, but we won’t return. I prefer to know the cost of my meal instead of finding out how many charges were added at the time to pay.

We stopped in for the first time after driving by so many times and were so glad we did! The staff are great and maintain a welcoming atmosphere. Food came out super fast and was really tasty. Way better than the usual fast food. My chicken sandwich and shoestring fries were perfect! Affordable, quick and good vibes.

Riverside is one of the best family diners I have had the pleasure eating at. The staff is patient and passionate about their diner. I went one time a few years ago and it too this day is my favorite place to eat dinner out or quick grab while coming home from work. I highly recommend the carrot cake it’s hard to find a good one that is moist, sweet, and they use natural ingredients.

You would never expect anything unassuming place like this to be so great. We got there at 10:55 AM and there were already people waiting, which is a great sign. I checked my watch and about 30 minutes after we got seated, the entire place was full. The food was excellent. If I could I would have 4.5 stars for the food because, although delicious, the portions were a tiny bit small. The service was excellent. Even though it was as busy as it was, the waitress was very friendly towards us and even gave us recommendations of things to see around Charlottesville! Prices are very reasonable as well. Would definitely eat here again.

This is it – this is my favorite place to eat in Charlottesville! The food is amazing, it is classic American diner food in the best way. The menu is extensive with something for everyone. The prices are extremely reasonable compared to many other restaurants these days. It is the best spot I could recommend for a casual lunch or dinner, especially for families. I will be eating here again!

Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was full but not crazy busy. The prices are very reasonable. I got all fried food for my meal and my partner got a burger. The burger was good but I really think the fried foods are the highlights. The cheese balls were so good. They’re pepper jack cheese cubes battered and fried. Also had fried mushrooms which I loved.

Food was good. Tables were clean. Service was rapid. Limited parking, no itemized receipt, staff had to look up the price on the menu and seemed to guess what the charge. 1 double bacon cheese burger with lettuce , 1 Philly cheesesteak, 1 basket of fries, 1 Soda, and 1 tap water cup, $37.

Had always loved this place there food and there prices were reasonable. Went in there today (checked the prices online because I’m tight on money right now) so I was treating myself today I ordered a double cheeseburger a small fry and a med drink. $17.38 !!!! The same meal that I’ve always got there everytime and only paid around 12 dollars. And when I checked back online the prices still only equaled up to $12.00. I went back in and very politely asked them why it was so much. They said the prices had gone up two weeks prior. Oh me! And no they didn’t give it to me for the internet price. Even though I was very polite. ♀️
