Lawler’s BBQ in Athens, Alabama was excellent. The pulled pork and ribs were amazing, and I really enjoyed their BBQ sauce—great flavor. The BBQ beans were really good as well. Everything was very affordable, which made it an even better experience. For the price and quality, it’s a great local BBQ option and one I’ll definitely return to.

LawLer’s Barbecue in Athens did a great job. I had the chicken quarter—didn’t look that impressive at first, but it tasted fantastic. The meat was incredibly tender, to the point the bones were literally falling off. I paired it with the BBQ baked beans and potato salad, and both were really good.
This is one of my girlfriend’s favorite places to eat, and she wanted to come here tonight. She ordered the loaded baked potato, which she’s now had twice—once with brisket and this time with chicken—and she enjoyed it both times. Chloe took our order and provided great service, and our food came out fast. We’ll definitely be back.

i recently visited Lawler’s BBQ at 1506 US Hwy 72 E, in Athens, AL. I was passing through and gave this place a try. It turned out very good. First, the decor inside is fantastic and I enjoyed walking around looking at it all. I was hoping to get a quarter of half chicken but they just had pulled chicken. It turned out to be a very good sandwich. A good place to visit.

Absolutely bland, soulless food. Got the ribs and chicken leg quarter. Basically no seasoning, as well as the sauce being some pre packaged chain crap. The skin on the chicken was slimy and the meat was tough and dry. The ribs were no better. Mostly tough cartilage. The meat was OK but nothing special at all. Most of all BLAND. I cant believe I fell for the allure. I can cook better food in an oven, but as a traveling worker I have to deal with garbage. No surprise I only saw old people here. Geriatrics barely have taste buds or preference. 20 dollars for a plate like that should have been at least a little better, not to mention the bland mac and cheese, and bland beans. The most flavor in the beans was the onion and that is SAD. It takes almost no effort to make real deal BBQ baked beans, but these chains just choose the can every time. Won’t be coming back, stick to your local one off BBQ joints

The food was great, Lindsay provided very kind service while offering options and explaining what they had to offer. It was our first time and she made it very pleasant. Decorations were great and we were finding scripture references in different places which was amazing. Way to go representing the Word of God in writing and in your attitude.

The food is always delicious. Just did a pick up in the drive through at 12:42 there is NO ONE else in line but they have the poor cashier outside in the cold. Truly no one else anywhere in this line. Get that cashier inside. It’s 34 degrees outside.
