It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

The location may be a bit hard to see, since the exterior is the modern box instead of the classic Whataburger bright orange A-frame, and it’s behind some trees. The inside was spacious and clean.
The staff was friendly and chatty, and went around the lobby every so often to check up on customers and see if any customers needed anything. I made multiple custom requests for my burger and this is one of the few locations that got everything right! Kudos to them because some of the requests weren’t in the ordering system so they had to relay it to the kitchen directly. I also got a pennant since they recently opened. Definitely worth coming back!

I literally just went through the drive thru order # 703592. The guy that took my order didn’t want to speak and when I told him I couldn’t hear him, I annoyed him. I asked for no grilled onions in my patty melt and on purpose had them lather it the melt. He needs to fix his customer service skills and communication!!!

Alright I was giving this location some grace because the first time I went it was very new. I just went again and man they’re unbelievably slow. I’m not sure if it’s because they moved into a new building or what, but if you come here be prepared to wait 20+ minutes in the DRIVE-THRU. They definitely need new management.

Diggin the new store. Team members are welcoming. Would be 5 stars if I could get iced coffee black but was told it’s all premixed. note to the culinary team-use a cold brew base. That way your guests can choose flavor, cream, sweet or BLACK. Not every coffee drinker wants all that up in there. Iced black coffee on a warm early morning would be awesome

BAD SERVICE…it took me over 30 minutes to get my burger….and when I get it . looks like they are feeding a dog. Burger is all over the place in the paper bag.
