We ordered the 16″ build-your-own pizza with just cheese on one side and pepperoni with black olives on the other. Every bite was incredible—the cheese, sauce, and crust were perfectly balanced and absolutely mouthwatering. Our waitress was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. The atmosphere had a nostalgic, cozy charm that made us feel right at home. If you’re in or near Athens, Alabama, Village Pizza is a must-try. We’ll definitely be back!

I truly love this place and have frequented Village pizza multiple times since we moved to Athens. The only negative experience I have had involved observing a woman working behind the counter, near the food, who was vaping and blowing large plumes of vapor around the food. She seemed to chuckle about it and did not appear to care. It was a really bad look for an otherwise fantastic establishment. This occurred around 6pm 12/3/2025 while we were celebrating my son’s Bday.

Service was excellent. When your server treats you well, it makes a big difference in my decision here. Atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. It has a dive-vibe, which I like. The pizza toppings were fresh and good-quality. I ordered the Laci. I enjoyed the sweet and spicy combination. The crust was a bit lacking… almost no flavor. Overall, I’ll be back. Food was amazing. Waitress nice and thoughtful In way that first bread sticks were not totally burnt but she immediately said she’ll have kitchen make more. Pizza amazing. You can sample beer. My husband said it’s good local micro brew beer selection. Gluten free stuff on menu. Well definitely be back.

We have been here multiple times but the recent visit just makes us not want to come back. We came in last Tuesday at about 2/2:30 pm and we were the only customers in the place and we still waited over 10 minutes for any of the FOUR waitresses to take our order. All four of them were in the kitchen just laughing/giggling with each other playing on their phones. Im guessing the cook felt bad for the wait after and made the pizza pretty quickly but it was still raw. I guess the animals were running the zoo that day. We will probably not be back after this experience.

Really good pizza, wings, sandwiches, and beer. It’s not New York style pizza, but not all of them have to be. The cheese sticks are basically a cheese pizza without pizza sauce (they are delicious), the fire and ice wings are phenomenal, and the Benny is our favorite pizza. Great location, too. All around a great pizza joint.

This was our first time dining at Village Pizza. It was absolutely delicious. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the lack of side choices for sandwiches. The menu does not contain any kind of fries which is usually our go to with a sandwich.
