From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with opens arms and a smile by Merlie, and then had Sharon as my waitress. She is so loving and so kind, and as I opened my eyes, after praying over my food, my table was filled with the remainder of my order that I had placed and her in the background with such a beautiful, delighted smile. Her presence was welcoming, and it made my experience here even more fulfilling.
I then met the chef, and he was wonderful as well. Great chef. Quality of food is beyond. Yes, all of this food was for me!
Once Sharon left, I wound up staying to work on a few things and met Ronald. He took very good care of me as well— very kind and welcoming Soul. I feel very grateful.
I spent most of my time here in Manoa and heard a lot about Waikiki. Coming from New York City, I feel very grateful that I listened to myself and decided to explore Waikiki. I truly had an incredible time here and so happy Basalt is a highlight of my trip.
The Panna Cotta was probably my favorite. Everything was delicious and yet, the Panna Cotta, I will order EVERY SINGLE TIME!
Enjoy!!
If driving, you can park at the Hyatt Hotel 6th floor and Basalt can validate it for 3 hrs. We ended up shopping around the area a bit longer so we had to pay for an extra 1.5-2 hrs of parking, which ended up being like $12.
Lance’s spin on a classic Loco Moco will hit every savory gland you have! Sharing this dish and the Charcoal pancakes are a perfect combination to satisfy your sweet needs. ☯️
So place is inside of a nice clean market, doesn’t look as appealing from the outside because of location (inside of a market).
We sat down and we were greated by server who was really nice to us (two kids and two adults). They also provided a high chair for infant.
Honestly, didn’t expect much because of location, but food was a WOW, 10/10. We ordered a rib eye steak w/mashed potatoes, chicken w/mashed potatoes, and a grilled cheese sandwich (kid). Everything was so tasty, portions were generous too.
Priced fair because of service, taste, and quality of service.
Would recomment!!!
POG Mousse for dessert was really a topper for the gustatory evening . An amazing dessert experience! Highly recommended . Only ever knew of chocolate mousse before. Who knew there are deserts like this out there??!!
PS: While I do agree that food is “expensive”, I do have to to say it’s literally in Waikiki, so everything is “expensive” when compared to other places (double or even triple, see my other
