From Omaha. Lived in KC for 12 years. This is excellent bbq! Can’t believe this place isn’t standing room only. We stayed at the Lied Lodge and walked over for lunch. What a nice place and the food is amazing! Brisket, pulled pork, sausage were flavorful and sauces excellent. Spicy was our favorite.

We had the brisket and pork sandwich with coleslaw. The brisket was very fatty with not much taste. The coleslaw was chunky and bland. This is the third time we’ve tried Porters with below average opinions on the food. Service and atmosphere are great. Very low par on a bbq food restaurant. Cool place just needs adjustment on food taste.

We ate here on one of the days (today) when we stayed at Lied Lodge. Fabulous food and service. We had the brisket stuffed baked potato and the pulled pork stuffed baked potato! Great comfort food! We also enjoyed a Nebraska beer and a hard cider made from the apples on Arbor Farm. We love supporting local when we vacation. This is a definite must!

Tomato soup was like spaghetti sauce. BBQ meat was good but sandwich was dry. The woman taking orders was unfriendly and obviously did not want to be there. Waste of $100. Won’t eat there again.

I ordered ordered burnt ends entree with burnt end beans. For the 2nd entree it was a brisket entree with cornbread and buttered bread that is included in all meals. It came with this interesting tasting jam that must have come with the cornbread. The burnt ends were very tender, had nice fat, not dry at all, meaty and smokey. You really can’t ask for more from good burnt ends! The burnt ends baked beans were really good as well! Pickled green beans was an interesting touch as well. The brisket entree was just as tender, meaty and smokey as the burnt ends. I’ve had Q39 and Joe’s Kansas City BBQ so I think I’d know good BBQ and this was really good! Two meals was only around $35 which is a really good value for what we received. I asked the cashier about the negative reviews on here and she told me that they had hired a new pitmaster and I can really tell they are the right person for the job! So if you have received dry brisket in the past it shouldn’t be happening anymore and hopefully it’s more consistent like my experience was. A few things that were a bit off was that bottled water was $3 so the same price as bottled soda with no tap water and they were out of certain soda but I still give it a five star experience overall. We will for sure be back again!

I can’t say the food tastes like garbage because it requires that it tastes like anything. Blandest ‘BBQ’ I have ever had, no smoke to it at all. Don’t waste your time.

Went here for the apple Jack festival at dinner time. They were out of pork, brisket, Mac and cheese, and cornbread. Th ey shouted out that they were out of the meat, but not the other sides. We stood in line for 30 minutes to find out they didn’t have what we wanted. First, they should have been prepared. Second, disclose on a sign what you’re out of. We ended up having pulled chicken which was mediocre. Will not be back.

I’ve eaten at Porter’s about 10 times now. There is a great mix of smoked meat to choose from. The brisket is always on point. The pulled pork is SOLID, and the burnt ends are amazing. I have come here with my kids, eaten solo, and also eaten with a group of friends. The outdoor atmosphere during the fall is worth the drive from Lincoln or Omaha just to be in beautiful scenery and eating great food. Parent tip: take your children to the tree adventure in the morning. Go to Porter’s for lunch, and watch them get a double portion of their daily protein. They’ll love it.

This was probably the worst bbq experience I’ve ever had. I ordered a burnt ends and added extra burt ends with the burnt ends baked beans. The baked beans weren’t cooked all the way through and were crunchy, not only that but the over taste wasn’t good. Their coleslaw which I had to order extra because the meal only comes with 1 side was runny and the cabbage looked to be chopped by hand but the chunks weren’t even close to the same size and overly vinegary.
The burn ends them self were pretty good. The bbq sauce wasn’t great and I had to ask for it because they forgot to put any in my container.
My buddy got a chopped brisket sandwich and the saving grace was the sausage the brisket was bland. Paying 20 dollars for a burnt ends meal and 15 something wasn’t worth the food we got. The side were thrown away because they were inedible.
This is a cute location and maybe we caught them on a bad day but I wouldn’t recommend anyone go to this bbq joint.

The chili, and cornbread were delicious. I also tried the SARO Joy Harvest Hard Cider….I will be ordering another. It is an excellent hard cider.
