Everyone was so welcoming and kind, I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Inn!
My apologies for letting this review fall through the cracks. Given the delay, this one may be a bit lighter on details.
It was my birthday, and our friends wanted to take us to one of their favorite restaurants. This is a place they’ve been to several times and were excited to show off. They’re especially known for their artisan pizzas.
Food:
Since pizza is their specialty, and two people in our group get very excited about a good slice, they ordered a Cheese, Sausage & Onion pizza and a Margherita pizza. The nightly special was Lamb Chop, which is one of my favorites, so I went with that. The last person ordered the Salmon.
Overall, the food was very good. The lamb chop was nicely presented, cooked to the right temperature, and pesto-encrusted, which was a delicious combination. While it was good, it could have been a bit more flavorful. The salmon was enjoyed, though it leaned slightly dry. Both pizzas came out piping hot, generously topped, and very flavorful. There was plenty to share around the table.
We had a little room left for dessert and ordered the Chocolate Nemesis. It was a good size and just enough to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth. They even added a candle to help celebrate my birthday, which was a nice touch.
Service:
Our server did a very good job throughout the evening. We were quickly settled in with drinks and menus, and the pacing of the meal was relaxed and well managed. We never felt like we were waiting on service. When they learned it was a birthday celebration, they went out of their way to present the dessert with a lit candle. It’s a small gesture, but it really shows attention to detail.
Atmosphere:
The restaurant felt much larger inside than expected. We were seated in a separate room that we had entirely to ourselves. Each of us had an upholstered chair, which initially felt special, though it took some adjustment not to lean back too comfortably at the table. When we arrived, the room was quite chilly and drafty. We asked if the thermostat could be adjusted, which helped, though it remained a bit drafty.
Overall, it was a very good experience and a place we would return to. Next time, I’d probably opt for one of the pizzas and request a table in the main dining room.
Each room was done differently for a different feel depending on where you sat. The bar was buzzing and there are even some seats to watch the kitchen whip up those amazing dishes.
First we started with the endive salad that was incredible if you like blue cheese and a tangy dressing. My wife got the special of steak with chimicurri and fries with a mushroom gravy. I got a delicious salmon with some beets. Prickly pear margarita might be in my top 3 best margaritas.
This place is seriously a gem that is quickly not so hidden. Check it out!
We left wishing we could try everything on the menu.
I made a reservation and really wanted to sit at the countertop in front of the kitchen. This wasn’t listed as a reservable area, but when I contacted the restaurant over FB they made sure we got the seats we wanted. It was fantastic!
I gave 4-stars for the atmosphere because half of the bartop isn’t walled off or segregated in any way from the first dinning area, and as you can imagine, it can get pretty loud.
This by no means is a reason not to go, just an fyi for busy nights.
