Several nice entrees for vegetarians. My husband enjoyed the grilled cheese with pesto pasta salad as the side. I enjoyed grilled cheese with side salad. Our sandwiches were huge. Our server recommended the coconut cake for dessert, which my husband found delicious (I was too full to have any).
They have several wine flights to try. My husband really liked the red wines.
We loved the ambiance, too! This was a perfect break for us while touring the downtown sculptures.
We stepped into the arch into this beautiful area with a rustic bar look and high tables. Bottles of wine and art lining the outer walls, the art was so unique and beautiful! I couldn’t help feeling anything but relaxed.
There was one more layer to this beautiful cafe. We stepped through a lovely second archway as we engaged in delightful banter with the two employees, they were so friendly and helpful, giving us a great first impression of the place. Entering the cafe, you see a lounge area with comfy couches, chairs and a fireplace!
Cute tables filled with people and on the other side there were booths and high tables. The walls were surrounded by art, the lounge area had magazines and this is all before we even sat down to eat! We had a beautiful first experience but we were worried the food wouldn’t be as good as the vibes the place gave, I can happily say that we were very wrong. I had a few questions as I have a food allergy to gluten and about the teas, our server happily checked on it for me and didn’t make me feel bad or like I was wasting his time!
I asked for a job application and they highly recommended it and gave me the option to even fill it out there which I did. I ordered a three cheese quiche with a Greek salad that is highly recommend, not only did he guarantee it was gluten free? He also told the chef for me without me having to ask him to do so! I also learned they have gluten free bread, I’ll have to try it next time.
They didn’t rush us to finish or anything and checked on us in a way that felt like we were talking to a friend. Very friendly atmosphere. Other servers checked on us throughout the meal as well and made sure we had everything and were having a great experience. If you have food allergies, I’d highly recommend this place. It’s about nine minutes from the Pony Express Museum. Outdoor and indoor seating.
We got two meals with drink refills for $32, and the staff made sure it was worth every penny from start to finish. There’s probably cheaper options but I was more focused on the gluten free options. Their soda isn’t out of a machine, it’s a delightful can that adds to the experience when you hear the hiss of the can opening. I got the cranberry juice, personally. Their salads, some soups and quiches are gluten free. The glasses also have cool designs on them! In all? Great experience. Keep it up!
Update July 2025: Nope. No improvement. Why do they consider themselves “gourmet”? Nothing is gourmet. I had a grilled Panini sandwich today which had been only cooked on one side. The other side was wet and uncooked. The waiter took 50% off thankfully.
This is a beautiful place. The setting is lovely. But they never seem to have a real chef. Not even half a chef.
Was a tad disappointed they were out of almost everything the night we went. But that just means they had been busy.
