So sad to see La Favorita erase such a heartfelt contribution to Pueblo History. Many of the workers who paid to be immortalized in those ceiling panels were veterans and working people who liked going to one of the few bars in town that played New Mexican music and hosted bands. The workers who paid for those ceiling panels that have been painted over with black paint were not only doing it for themselves, they bought those small memorials for future generations. Clearly, the owners had no clue or didn’t care that they were destroying a community archive.

I went there tonight to see my uncle’s panels only to find they were gone. Luckily, I had photographed some years ago, but I wished I had photographed the others. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Now, “the favorite” has erased all NM working class history from its ceiling and hosts comedy, has established a dress code, and has successfully eliminated local patrons. Bear in mind, in Pueblo’s heyday we could hear New Mexican music, rock, punk, country and jazz live music in the same night at different bars downtown. That’s all gone.

After seeing the black ceiling, my father who shined shoes on union as a kid said he never wants to go in there again. Neither do I.

Oh wow I don’t even know how to rate this place. It is so different from the first time I went there years ago. Different music different crowds different type of dance. Two minutes after arriving there was a fight. There were three more during the whole time I was there, and I went late! I wonder how people can say they had fun when they fight most of the time. I’m not trying to knock the place it’s just the people who can not control themselves. Good luck to everyone who go out and try to have fun, stay safe.

Used to be a great bar. Bar staff amazing per usual.

DJ only played mixed rave music and if you requested a song you were lucky to get a minute of the song before he mixed it to something else.

The biggest issue is…you have so many security guards and for what?? To sit out side and smoke OR to intimate the few people that actually come into the bar???
Why in gods name do you yell and pull a TASER out… when you just announced it was closing time. Customers knew and were closing out bar tabs!!! There are few bars like this in Pueblo and this place used to be so enjoyable!!

Tried to go last night with some friends and I (white) was allowed in, but my buddy (black) was denied entry. Another friend asked the bouncer later and was told, “have to keep the riff raff out.” I wonder if that bouncer could’ve been more explicit about what or who he considers “riff raff”…

This bar is super ghetto!!!! Idk the staff older female has thrown me out a few times for getting in disagreement w/ men them yelling & me yelling back. Obviously women safety isn’t a big deal to their staff because I’m not a often customer I’m the one to get thrown out it’s happened in 2019 2020 & 2021. I have no clue how this place is still even in business.

Literally the most ghetto bar in Pueblo. My friends and I went to celebrate my boyfriends birthday, my friend was just resting her head when the security guard ran up and told her she needed to leave. He proceeded to man handle her out of the booth then, when I told him we were leaving he still continued to grab her by the arm and try to force her out. Then when her boyfriend told the man to stop being forceful with her, the security guard pepper sprayed my friend and I. We were complying and leaving and they still decided that pepper spray was the best option.

Let’s get real. this is the only bar that’s stayed alive and open. Every other usually gets shut down. It has a good atmosphere. Only thing is you can be standing and waiting right in front of a bar tender and theyll help someone who walked up after you and you’ll wait 20+ minutes it seems. Customer service definitely needs some work. Other then that it’s a great place.

Good place to dance and have a few drink. DJ was good and mixes it up nicely. Loud music not much room for caring on a conversation.
