We came here wanting to experience it as Authentic as it can be when it comes to Filipino food. Our experience was amazing! We got to meet the chef and the owner, who were I believe from the same province as me, Pampanga which is The food capital of the Philippines. Of course we have to try the sisig! 10/10. Everything else was also flavorful and amazing. The atmosphere is very homey, and the service is great. Very humble and friendly people. I highly recommend this place, I promise you will never be disappointed!

So far, this has been the best Filipino restaurant I’ve tried in Texas. The food is just really good. Everything we ordered was delicious and of high quality. The staff was also very polite. You have to try this place at least once, you won’t regret it. My favorite dish was the crispy pata.

Filipino food in Austin is about as hard to find as, well, quite literally anything. Luckily, we found Kapatad, and are very glad we did. Parking is easy to find with spots right out front and from the moment you step in you can feel the authenticity. In a city desperately lacking southeast Asian food, this was a huge breath of fresh air. We ordered for pickup and the process for it was very smooth. By the time we got back to our place we were extremely excited to dive in and try it out.

This place offers a lot of Filipino classics so we went with the pork adobo, lumpia, and fried rice. The pork adobo was amazing. The pork was seasoned so well with a hint of kick and the adobo being so savory, mixing well with the potatoes. Standout dish and competes with the best adobos we’ve had at other restaurants. The lumpia was also very good. Very long lumpia with a nice filling and crunch to the roll. It was so good we didn’t even bother with the dipping sauce. Lastly, the fried rice was also good. Unlike typical fried rice it didn’t have the day old hardness and had a nice soft seasoning to it. We also got white rice as a side and it was good, pretty standard.

All in all, Kapatad deserves a lot of recognition. It is the most authentic, and best, Filipino food we have had in Texas. To be honest, it’s better than a lot of spots in NYC or the Bay. It’s always nice to have spots like this keeping rich flavors and tradition alive. Whether it’s your first time eating Filipino food, or you miss the taste of your childhood, Kapatad is a place we think you will love.

I can’t believe I’ve never dined here. I missed out on so many months of good food! We were welcomed so graciously by the host and waiters. The food came out very quickly too! Everything was delicious – and I mean everything. From the fried lumpia to the halo halo, you can tell so much care went into these dishes. Even something like the pork and blood dish- while it sounded atypical- was just well-executed. Tender pork belly soaked in a deliciously dark and rich gravy – you’ve got to try this. And the pork sisig on an iron plate – wow! The flavor was a delicious grilled flavor – I could eat this for days and not get bored. I highly recommend Kapatad if you’re looking for down home, affordable Filipino food.

This was my first time trying filipino cuisine and it did not disappoint. I ordered a fish special and it was quite literally one of the best dishes I’ve had. The saltiness and crispiness of the fish paired lovely with the coconut sauce. Must try! For desert I ordered Halo-Halo. It was a different experience but i had to try it. It wasn’t my favorite but id order it again. Definitely recommend this spot.

I love this Filipino restaurant! I recently had them cater my birthday party, and it was many of my friends’ first time trying Filipino food. They were so happy!!! Everything we ordered was amazing—especially the pancit and lechon. The staff is also incredibly kind and hospitable, especially Jasper! I cannot recommend this place enough. Definitely the best Filipino cuisine in Austin!

Came here with friends and it was absolutely delicious. My favorite has to be the Dinuguan, but i believe that was a special menu item and may not be available anymore. The sisig was also very good. The crispy pata was a bit dry compared to another restaurant i’ve had back in Dallas.

Just try it to find out if you like it. It’s worth trying. 🙂

Omg this place is AMAZING! I am very picky when it comes to Chinese food but went out of my comfort zone and tried it out and let me just say,
I wasn’t disappointed AT ALL! We started off w the Fried Lumpiang which were amazing and I got the sesame chicken and my husband got the Tapsilog and both blew us out of the water!
Not to mention, friendly and very attentive staff!
Will definitely be back!

We went here for lunch because it was recommended. Upon entering, they asked if we had reservations. I told them no. They were able to seat us right away.

We ordered from both their menu and daily specials. All the food was so delicious. The halo halo was served in a plastic tub and could be shared with at least 2 people. The only gripe I have is that they charged a lot for extra rice.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would prefer ordering takeout so I won’t get charged for extra rice.
