When I heard of a Vietnamese restaurant in town I just had to give it a try.
Compared to the few Asian places one can find in New Cairo, Hanoi has a good offering of food that transcends Vietnamese cuisine to include Chinese as well.
Seeing one can judge a vietnamese joint by it’s Pho, theirs is not the best. It is lacking flavor but can rate as comfort food especially that winter is around the corner.
The dumplings were ok. The warm beef salad was really good. The sweet and sour chicken was filling and their fried rice are delicious.
So many raved about the duck in orange and ginger, but I found it to be extremely spicy to the point one cannot enjoy the meat.
It’s a personal taste really. I don’t like sauces to cover texture and overwhelm taste buds.
Service was ok, the vibe is nice. Recommended for big groups too.

The food was inauthentic and underwhelming especially for the cost. Everything costed soo much compared to the quality. We came here because of an influencer ad and what he said couldn’t have been further from the truth. The vegetarian options felt random in sense of the vegetables but the sauces were somewhat good. The waiters were very well mannered but a bit inexperienced.
I wished this would have been a much better experience but I wouldn’t come here again. The only reason I would come again is the garlic rice as it was the only most flavourful thing that didn’t need any sauces or additives to make it better.

One of the best Vietnamese restaurant in Cairo. Rice noddle soup is best. But rice noodle is not like original from the country. Ambience and location are great. East to park around the mall.

Generally I’d say Hanoi is ok. The pho did have all the elements that’d make it authentic, but it wasn’t very flavorful. It wasn’t perfectly clear as a pho broth should be. And if I’m gonna be critical, the noodles were very slightly overcooked and they were sticking to the bottom of the bowl it was served. It just wasn’t a satisfying bowl of pho as it should be. The dumplings were falling apart and it was a pain to grab one as they were sticking to the basket, also very plain in flavor. I really liked the orange duck but they could’ve gone a bit easier on the butter in the sauce. Although heavy it was delicious. If I’d ever come back I’d order the orange duck again for sure.

Closest thing to the Pho I had to USA. Really Good.
The orange duck with the garlic fried rice was delicious as well. Definitely will go again!

I’ve been craving pho since I’ve moved from California to Cairo and let me tell you I could never find a good or close enough taste to the pho I had there. So my husband and I decided to give Hanoi a try and I will have to say it’s the closest I’ve had to Pho in Egypt. The taste of the broth is the same but the noodles are a bit different they are a lot thicker than the ones I’m used to. I ordered the beef pho and I was so glad I did. We also ordered the fried chicken /beef rolls and they were okay I would give them a 7/10 , but the pho mhmmm delicious. I highly recommend to try it if you’re around town 🙂

As someone who is a huuuuge fan of pho and can never find it in Cairo, this place didn’t disappoint. I had chicken pho and the broth was nice and clear, chicken was flavorful and tender, they were out of sprouts which is the only thing that would’ve added to the dish. Will definitely be coming back throughout the winter when the pho cravings hit.
