We had the ribs, hoecakes, short rib, and chicken (oh and a delicious soup on the house) — every single dish was outstanding. Mr. Paul was a fantastic server and bartender, and he shared the history of the building, which was really special. Great music, great atmosphere, and all around an amazing experience. Atlanta restaurants just aren’t delivering like this, and we were so impressed. Highly, highly recommend!!
The vibe was quiet and relaxed, which made it easy to enjoy good conversation and just be present. If you’re looking for a spot with great food and a calm atmosphere, this is it. We will definitely be back.
Thanks Chef Tregaye
The pluses:
Restaurant is gorgeous on the inside. I mean stunningly beautiful. You can tell someone really thought out the lay out and that the staff keeps if looking spotless.
Our customer service was great our waitress did an excellent job serving us, though we felt the kitchen staff didn’t help her much being slow and messing up some of the food.
The donut holes dessert was creative and the best thing we had.
The minuses:
The food service was really, really slow despite our waitress best efforts. It took us a long time to get food even though the restaurant was about at 30% capacity we would guess.
We received one of the veal chops half cooked and not safe to eat.
When the veal chop was returned it was the same chop just broiled with more gravy on top making it scary to eat. This is a no-no for us in food. Most restaurants would provide a new meat portion to ensure the patron knows it is safe.
All in all we think the restaurant had creative dishes, great customer service and a beautiful ambiance. The cook staff isnt doing the servers any favors though with long wait times for under cooked food.
Due to the issues with food security, long wait times with a luxury price we probably would not return. Which is unfortunate because it has so much potential.

A hidden gem just minutes from downtown Atlanta!
From the moment we walked into Auburn Angel, we were welcomed by the aroma of their in-house smoker—setting the tone for a truly flavorful experience. The vibe is laid-back yet modern, with a clean and stylish atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home.
Chef Rob is clearly a master of flavor, blending Southern comfort with global fusion in a way that’s both creative and delicious. The menu is full of surprises—unique spice blends, rich sauces, and fresh ingredients that come together beautifully in every dish. Whether you’re a foodie or just love a great meal, this place delivers.
Our server Renee was absolutely amazing—warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating. She made sure our dietary restrictions were met without sacrificing taste or creativity. It’s rare to find a spot that offers this level of customization with such care.
The cocktails were also a standout—balanced, bold, and definitely not watered down! And for the quality and uniqueness of the ingredients, the prices were impressively affordable.
Auburn Angel is now one of our favorite spots near Atlanta. Great food, thoughtful service, and an unforgettable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!
