Delayed review but 5 star experience for Valentine’s Day dinner! The service was so great and staff was super friendly and attentive. We did the dinner + wine pairing and thought everything was excellent! They even had a little sign for our table since it was our anniversary which was a nice touch. I would recommend!

The Viking hotel is on the national registry of historic hotels. The exterior facade is absolutely stunning-beautiful brick building located in a perfect setting to walk everywhere. There is vallet parking which is included in the price so taking advantage of that is a must. The inside of the building is grand, big, old with a mix of new and the management takes pride in the way the building looks. The indoor pool and hot tub are large enough, though the carpet in the pool area is unsanitary and should be replaced with tile. The gym is a good size as well and all the recreational facilities can be used at any time. Aside from the view of Newport and the ocean from our room, this was the least impressive part of the hotel. The room was very tight and really uncomfortable once they brought a bed on wheels there for use as the third bed. Overall a pleasant experience and a bargain for three nights and I would definitely stay there again.

Worst dinner experience I have ever had. Not to mention I reached out to the restaurant on 3 occasions via email, to hopefully remedy how terrible our experience was, and received no response. I thought this was going to be a 5 star experience, and I have had better service at a dive bar.

If you like chicken, just order it from the menu. It was seriously the best chicken I’ve ever had. So tasty!!! Also, the staff was very nice and became our favorite spot there! My fiancé and I got engaged in the lovely outdoor patio with Christmas songs and a romantic fire place!

This restaurant is in the Viking hotel. We really enjoyed the oysters and the chowder, which had lobster, scallops and shrimp. The strip steak and duck we’re good although the steak was cooked medium rather medium rare. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. The dining we’re spacious and we’ll appointed. Pleasant experience overall.

We waited over an hour for a salad, a soup, and a burger. We were the ONLY table there, and the food came out cold, except the salad which was warm. They brought us a burger with bacon, even though we asked for no bacon. We asked for a new burger, but what we got instead was the same burger with some of the bacon taken off. There was literally still chunks of bacon still there.

I’ll start with the positive: Ivan was an excellent server and the jazz music was delightful. That’s about it, though. We were seated around a number of dirty tables that stayed that way for at least a half hour. The menu is written as though it will be high quality ingredients…but it wasn’t. “New England maple syrup” was basically sugar water, the fruit was disappointing, the pancakes tasted like Bisquick, and the bacon ($6) came off the buffet. I usually avoid restaurants attached to hotels and, even though I thought this would be different, I should have stuck with my gut.
