Had high expectations from this place but this turned out to be a disappointment. Not against homely meals but this felt more like the quality you get in college canteens/mess.
Tried out a lot of things and only a couple of times were edible, rest all was just below average. Not something I would like to try again in a place where there are endless options/ restaurants to try.
Tried chole bhature: average, dahi vada: dry without curd- below average , makke ki roti with saag- roti was uncooked, vada pav was good and saag was tasteless, bhakari was good and lastly thali – looked and tasted like canteen thali. If you want below average non tasty food – go there . If you are someone who has to eat outside food daily and can’t eat any other cuisine – this place might work as it’s low on cost and kinda home cooked but if you are looking at restaurant style/tasty food- this place is a big NO

I ordered the Chole Bhature and Veg Combo Thali. The food was delicious, and the quantity was satisfactory,However, I believe it didn’t quite reach the 5-star mark.

Simple homely Indian food. If you want to experience authentic Indian home cooking, this is your best bet, other than going to an Indian mom’s kitchen. We wanted to die in, but it was so full on a Saturday night that we opted to do Takeaway instead. The restaurant is very simple, and the seating is very basic. All the dishes were flavourful, and the best part was that they were extremely reasonably priced for good portion. I specially loved the bhindi. Also had the buttermilk with spice and it was really good.

This place is soooo great! Definitely one of the better places I’ve gotten North Indian food (they’re specifically Gujarati). I got a thaali combo 1 for 12.99 (which for me is priced really well), and it was delicious. Everything was flavored well, balanced, and the roti stayed soft throughout my meal. They also give complementary chai which is a plus, it was also made fresh and spiced nicely. To top it off my server was prompt and friendly. I also got a chance to meet the owner who was warm, funny and kind. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for North Indian food! (PS I didn’t forgot to take pics of my chas & chai)

The food was really comforting and homely! It wasn’t too spicy or oily, and the portions were a good size for the price.

The service could definitely use a little improvement. The dishes and spoons weren’t very clean, and the servers/waiters didn’t seem very engaged.

Horrid experience. We sat down for dine in, and the only thing they did right was take our order on time. We waited an excruciatingly long time for our food, even though there was only one other table occupied there. When they do come, they show up with a takeout order asking if it’s ours. We laughed that off assuming it was a small mistake, and decided to go home and eat. After paying and while walking out, we see that half the order wasn’t even in the bag. When we went back inside to see what was up, they gave a half hearted apology, and made us wait longer for the main entree to be made. It did not look like they took it seriously.
We decided to request a refund and walk out after that, but they managed to get our food within a few minutes of telling them.

After we got home, we open the boxes and it looks like they only made one plate of Sabudhana Kichdi and put it in two boxes. The quantity was unequal in both boxes and did not look like two portions but rather one portion split in two.

Very disappointing, and discouraging. Customer service and accountability was lacking.

My recent finds and will definitely regard this as one of the best chaat places in the Bay. Prices are very decent. Malai methi paneer was damn good. To my surprise Methi poori and Bhatura went well with it. Really liked their Bhel poori which is far better than most other places here. Ragda patties had two small sized patties (wish they added more) and were okay. Veg cutlet was decent but not the best.

Their thali is great!

Hara bara paratha, aloo paratha were good and tasted like home made. One will be greatly sufficient.

Best of all, their complimentary chai tasted 10x better than apna bazaar’s .

Functional Indian place that caters to chaat and other fun and fast foods. The place has no airs about it with its barebones furniture and decor.
What it lacks there, it more than makes up with the choice of food and the quality. The bhel was very good, but the quantity was enough for an entire lunch portion! The sabudana wada was good, but not great. The spices could have been better. The spinach paneer paratha was on the dry side and a little bland for me. The yogurt on the side felt weak and runny. Nothing like the agra style paratha I expected. Still it was a hearty meal and made fun with the unlimited chai.

I was craving thali one evening and decided to stop by Radhe Chat in San Jose since it was close by. Located on one end of El Camino, it doesn’t have a lot of parking, so be prepared to wait for a spot if it’s busy.

I ordered the Gujarati thali with chaas but was a bit disappointed. The dish was bland, and they forgot to serve the chaas. The restaurant was very loud and crowded, and the service felt slow. They could probably benefit from quicker table turnovers.

The menu is in English but doesn’t include pictures, which could make it challenging for non-Indian customers who might not be familiar with some of the dishes. However, they do offer free chai, and the chaat dishes looked amazing! I’m planning to give it another try and explore more of the menu since I think they have a lot of potential but are just falling a bit short right now.
