CRAFT BEER IN THE FORKS, MAINE Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort is the home of Kennebec River Brewery. After your day of fun and adventure, relax and enjoy craft Maine beers on tap in the casual comfort of our main lodge with a full restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We launched our brewery in 1996 because a few of our river guides were beer fans crafting home brews, and we had the perfect setting for a microbrewery on site. Our handcrafted beers are extra tasty after a day rafting, hiking, ATVing or snowmobiling. Kennebec River brews are only available at the source in The Forks, Maine. Taste the beers here, take brews home in growlers.

The food is great, have some good brew choices and the atmosphere is super cool inland Maine all the way. Had one of the best burgers in the state here a while back.

Phenomenal staff, all enthusiastic and obviously happy to be working there.
We had a great time and we’ll go back again with a larger group for sure.

Did water rafting, camped out for three nights and two days had a blast. Make sure you bring bug spray for the outdoors

We regularly travel from Australia to New England. This last trip we decided to drive up to Quebec City. Kennebec River Brewery was a perfect stop for a meal, beer and some ambiance. When we planned the drive we added the brewery as a stop and we were very happy with the choice…lovely people, great food 🙂

Great food and environment at the Kennebec River Brewery. Beers were great, tried a couple of them. The sandwiches and lobster roll were both excellent!

Would love to come back.

BLT good, cider must have a high APV, beautiful building and views. Service was a little slow but it was also a off time. Would go back

Kennebec River Brewery makes really good beers, many options, on site! I loved the Northbound Pale Ale. Customer service was very nice, and nachos were delicious, too. They sell growler and growler fills, too, if you dont have time to stay! The gift shop here is also good, including clothing, hats, beer glasses, and more!

Stopped.for lunch going to and returning from Quebec City. Pulled pork and pulled chicken excellent. Fries superior. Service was very good given a Saturday lunch crowd and limited crew. Will plan northern trips to make sure we are here at meal time!!!

Glad it was me. I give a lot of credit to people who work in the food industry. It’s tough and unforgiving.

I want to start with the parking: Weird to have a campground/adventure park/ rental shop/ arcade/ bar+restaurant. But a money maker for sure. Had to park at the back, near campground and had no marked path to the restaurant. Had to walk through the back, across the patio, pool deck and through the bar to get a hostess.

Service: Lackluster. Seemed slightly new maybe poorly trained. We sat for 30mins before being asked about drinks. She told us the kitchen was backed up so we got an app (we didn’t plan on). She never check up on us throughout our meal. Our food came out quickly which was a surprise. We then ate (15mins) and waited for our check (20+mins). Ended up approaching the hostess stand to process payment.

Food: I was very disappointed. I ordered a bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes and seasonal veg. The Meatloaf lacked seasoning. Seemed like a lower quality cut of beef (used in chili’s) and had large chunks of red bell pepper. Mash had 0 flavor (normally should have salt and/or butter). Gravy was okay? Seemed like a packet gravy. Seasonal veg was green beans with 0 flavor. Had minced garlic and oil but no salt or butter again. The oil overpowered the garlic and it got lost.

Decor: Dusty plastic plants and hunting trophies. The dessert menu on the tables were dusty. Dead bugs in the windows and webbed. Had a couple black jacks (bees) near us. The relentless flies were tough as well. Could be better kept but hiring is tough right now.

We had fried mozz bites and they were wicked good! Marinara sauce was killer.

I would not go back but please don’t let my experience deter you from exploring and trying new places! Atmosphere was cool inside with pool tables and bar. They also had a little gift shop. Staff was friendly and courteous.
