Great homestyle diner, great for those who want to feel at home and grab a plate for themselves without the hassle of cooking it yourself. If you’re looking for a chain restaurant that’s at your beck and call and serve you with a fake smile then this ain’t your place. Come here for honest, God fearing people, food that’ll leave you rolling out of the door, and an atmosphere to relax and laugh in.

My wife was interested in trying Big Thicket Diner in Silsbee.
We went and have to say, found nothing especially exciting about it nor the menu/selection/decor. Breakfast buffet ends at 10:00, then lunch begins. BUT they close at 3:00??? What’s the point? What’s even on it? Do you make decisions based on potential customers, or what’s convenient for you?
It used to be the Pizza Hut, WAS great, decades of good memories and food, first ate there in 1975. The remodeled interior is extremely small and cramped inside now, the well thought out floor plan is gone. You actually have to turn sideways to maneuver around the junk in your way.
Food selection left everything to be desired, along with presentation. Perhaps trying to redefine “buffet” to mean: “cleaned out the fridge and shelves, here’s what we have”?
Limited, bland, and my wife who loves buffets, kept asking me “is this it?”. Then added “Silsbee standards”. The (probably) cheapest protein you can have 1 option (hamburger patties), 2 starches (rice two ways, and bad mashed potatoes). Vegetables? Lima beans, corn and puny green beans.
NOT worth the $42 paid.
We won’t be going back. Took the opportunity to drive around town, which is now just a shadow of itself. Very depressing to see what it’s become, including Pizza Hut.

Enjoyed a Cheeseburger and fries tonight, and it was absolutely delicious. Lived the seasoned fries and the bun was so fresh. The restaurant was clean, and nicely decorated. No foul smells, like others l have visited. I will definitely be back here soon.

We were skeptical to try this place since it only had 2.5 stars but we decided to give it a shot. I had the club sandwich and fries and my kids had chicken Alfredo and the seafood platter. We thought the food was very good and they even have deserts you can eat there or take to go. The prices are a little high but what isn’t these days. Its a local place by local people so at least give them a try.

Breakfast buffet ? Pancakes dry and cold. Biscuits old and hard. AND a tip ? Really ? Get your own drinks, silverware (and some of that was dirty) and no service afterwards. Changes are needed to the food and staff. Give them one more try for dinner and repost.

I ate breakfast and I can only eat one plate. Self service on the drinks and then asked for a tip. Tip? I ended up paying $19.00 bucks and some change. I’ll never eat there again.

The pace is not where I would recommend working or eating she tells her employees they are family but won’t pay them her old employees are trying to fight for their pay her prices are overrated for the food and u can’t get survived I stood there 10 min and never was helped cause her front end ppl were all outside us and 2 other families left cause we couldn’t get any help
