Ticket time wasn’t horrible about 12-15 minutes, food was amazing for what was right. My wife didn’t receive her mashed potatoes which I didn’t realize, it wouldn’t have really mattered anyway as we were never checked on after receiving our food.
2 people behind the bar were more worried about the regulars that were there to do nothing but drink than customers who ordered food.
We were never told to come pay at the bar but did inform the waitress that it was our first time there. Would’ve been very helpful information to have.
We loved the food even if it wasn’t right, but we will never return after the service we received. I had really high hopes for this to be a place to come once or twice a month, filley is closer with better service, and I can honestly say Hallam is about the same distance with better service.
Overall I wasn’t impressed. If you just want great food and don’t care about service this would be a place to eat, but if you’d like to dine out and have an overall great experience I’d suggest going elsewhere personally.
The main thing holding this place back is the service provided and the atmosphere created by this. It feels often like it is an Adam’s residents only place, as even if you are from the nearby area you get stared at by all the customers. You also get ignored by the waitstaff as they sit and talk with the other people.
It is not always like this, as there is a nice lady there who is very attentive and friendly, but we have only seen her once.
A couple odd things are the children being used to work the bar. I can’t really complain about how a kid throws down your food or silverware so casually when a kid shouldn’t be in such a position. Learning responsibility and helping out is one thing, but I’ve seen them in there every time.
Additionally, there is a rather crude joke above the restrooms about how women are on the left because men are always right. I feel like a misogynistic joke really does not create a welcoming environment to me and my friends (we are all women.)
It’s probably made very light-hearted and I can’t say it reflects on the owner, but it’s in poor taste regardless.
I’d recommend this place if your own local tavern is closed, because Across the Trax is open almost all week and later than most places.
We got home and opened everything up to serve and our pretzel bites were rattle snake bites. I called to let them know and Kelly was very good at getting it handled. We sent our son down there to pick up the correction and he was told that they were out of pretzel bites. So instead of calling me back the first time to let me know, the kitchen took it upon themselves to substitute.
This isn’t the first time we have had a bad experience. They need to do better. Being the only game in town doesnt give them the right to be lazy or careless. They should striving to be better.
