Owneea are super nice, it didn’t take long to get food. Catfish was good and the sauces were to die for (tartar sauce and what I thought was hot sauce were both home made) delicious

Very very very good spicy Italian beef sandwich, I’d say the best you can get outside of Chicago. The chilli dog was slammin’. The only issue; I wish they were larger portions, but maybe it’s for the best! Great place Highly recommend.

This is true to Chicago! The dog is without a doubt 5 stars. The fries were more of a 4 star but that is not what I am there for. If you want to know what a Chi-town dog is or miss them. Get the Clark St. It is spot on and the price is great!!!

My first Chicago style hot dog and it was great! I don’t know how authentic it was but it was delicious. It was cooked to order. The lady who took our order was friendly and efficient. She put up with my chatting so politely! I was just in town for the weekend but if when I get back I’ll probably stop by again.

Hands-down the best authentic “Chicago-style” dog in Louisville. Nothing fancy, just friendly folks serving some delicious dogs. The Clark Street is amazing and is my personal favorite. It can get crowded extremely fast in here, and parking is abysmal, but it’s worth it.

Best lil restaurant in St. Matthews with an old school vibe. The dogs are delicious and so reasonably priced! The service is warm and friendly! Love the Chicago memorabilia. I cherish this place with all the glam and overpriced restaurants that have infiltrated the area, Lonnie’s is classic!

THE BEAT DOGS IN LOUISVILLE! The people running this place are super nice and love to see you enjoy their food. The food is authentic, and true to its cultures. The tiny little restaurant is producing tons of delicious food right in front of you! I will be visiting this place a lot more!

Definitely don’t come during a Saturday. It took 90 minutes just to get two Chicago dogs and a chili dog. They ran out of fries by 2:15 pm. The owners spend most of the time talking to their regulars instead of on the grill lol

With it being the last week this was my first experience here. I wish I hadn’t waited. Lonnies is set to close up shop and retire at the end of this week, but I wanted to share my experience none the less. Can you have nostalgia from a place you’ve never been? This place makes a strong case for it. When I walked through the doors I entered Chicago’s city limits, instantly being transported to another world. A man behind the counter calls out in a slow drawn out voice, order fiiiiive… is ready, a cadence that can only be developed from years of patience and experience and from having some time being spent in windy city. My brother and I step closer as another person got served in front of us. We debated on several items until we got to the counter and the sweet lady behind the counter with the kindest eyes informed us that we were down to beef and dogs, no matter we were there for sake of saying we went so I got the dog, and he got the beef. My brother being the sleuth that he is asked if they had and pizza puffs, he gamble paid off because she flopped the last one into the fryer as she walk back to the register to finish the order. Sitting at the wooden counter top while waiting for the goods, I could feel years of people waiting for the same food that I was currently waiting on. I look around and see all the Chicago paraphernalia it felt so familiar, so family. My order came up and I said some goofy phase of how lucky I am to try it and bid them a pleasant retirement. Listening to motown as I ate and overheard multiple people come in and share thier experiences and delivering a fond farewell to the owners showed how much they meant to our community. Oh yeah, the food was perfectly yummy btw. I think about all the calories I could have consumed over the year here, but am grateful to have the ones I had. Happy Retirement to y’all and thank you for everything.
