Social Profile:

Born at the 1982 World’s Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee, the Petro, a layered delight of Fritos corn chips, special recipe chili (also available plant-based), shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, real sour cream, green onions, black olives and jalapeños quickly became a fan-favorite! Premium toppings such as grilled chicken, pulled pork, guacamole, salsa, queso, buffalo or bbq sauce make for a Premium Petro’s Experience. The menu rounds out with giant baked potatoes, black angus all-beef hot dogs, nachos and wedge salads, all made to order to your specifications. Last, but certainly not least, is the refreshing Hint-of-Orange Iced Tea (not flavored, but infused with orange essential oils and brewed with dried orange rind), the perfect compliment!

Last two trips sweet tea has not been sweet. Potatoes have tasted old. Expected more from this location.

Staff was extremely friendly and the original Petro chili was great. They also gave my dog 2 treats and he had no complaints at all. A nice new addition to Bristol!

The original Petro was delicious and the hint of orange tea is refreshing and unique. It’s nice that they have vegetarian options and the food tastes fresh.

First time visiting this restaurant. Not what I expected.I wanted to like it. However my food was slightly warm and flavorless. I’d rather take $20 and go to a sit down restaurant.

Love Petro’s but have always gone to one in JC. First time trying this one, it was superb! Gal at windows was charming, food was hot, tons of toppings on the BBQ chicken baked potato! WONDERFUL!

I am editing my review after returning on several occasions for lunch, since my last review. I have reordered my usual several times and each time has been spot on. Tastes amazing and the customer service, even from the start has always been on point. Everyone is always friendly and that goes a long way in itself. I have friends who are also telling me things seem better since the opening!
I debated on reviewing but when I compare this to Johnson City TN, where I have ate their many times, I was left disappointed. I took a friend that has never tried this before and I raved about how good it was. That this one was new in town. I ordered my go too, the medium pulled pork BBQ petro, my friend ordered a Buffalo chicken petro, then ordered two loaded baked potatoes and a chili cheese dog for someone else. My complaint was the food. The service and kindness from the staff were on point. I had a literal sprinkle of pulled pork on top. No BBQ that I could taste and not even a fork full of meat. My friend with the chicken was similar. My bowl was literally only chili and chips, that was basically it. So that was disappointing, considering the price for the bowl. Potatoes looked good but were not mine to eat. The chili cheese dog we paid for was sadly not in our bag. We did not discover this until 20 minutes away. So, I am hopeful because this place is new, they will get it together. I understand flukes happen and everything. I hope the employees weren’t trained to put the smallest portion of meat in the petro bowls. If so, the portions need to honestly be adjusted.

The food is taking big hits lately, from raising prices, reducing portions, dressings and quality to not having items prepared regularly. It seems they are out of potatoes 9X out of 10, or have a 15 minutes wait. My last potato was actually a decent size but with 1 TBL of sour cream, no chives, butter on the bottom and leaking out of the bag, and….a burnt potato, well….it just left me so disappointed. Not sure why the quality is going down hill while the prices keep going up. Please, someone care about the quality you put out. It’s not like we’re not paying for it ….

Petro’s has always been a favorite of mine and the Bristol location is no exception. We’ve been there twice already and the food has been great both times. The tea is my favorite and this location has some of the best I’ve had. Chips and Queso are also a family fave. Shout out to Emily and Beth at this location for their upstanding friendliness and customer service!

Food is good, but I wish they offered iced tea without orange in it. Friendly staff, and affordable as well.
