I dropped in on a late lazy Fall Sunday afternoon and sat at an interior table with an open window view of street and shops. The Hubs ordered two crispy shell Diablo ground beef tacos (minus the crema) with beans n rice $16. He enjoyed the flavor of the meat. Not bad pricing either. I ordered pozole $18. The bowl was huge, bigger than my Charlie Brown head. It was served with tortillas and the usual condiments (chopped onions, cilantro, oregano, chilies). The flavors were mild. But I had leftovers and the next day, boy the flavors were way tastier ( spot on) with the profile. Mmm. The complementary chips and
salsa were darn delicious. The chips were crisp and sturdy and held well against scooping up the salsa and bite. The salsa had great flavors and a nice thickish consistency.
The place is exuding ambiance. Modern, fresh design aesthetics that have unpretentious, upscale vibes but that’s family friendly. Yes meaning bring the kiddos, but parents still gotta parent. Vibing first date, special occasion, or another family dining outing. I was vibing all three feels on a vacation mode feel even though it was just me and the Hubs (old ball n chain for a zillion years).
Besides the interior dining area, there is an outdoor patio and an interior bar. For folks that have a difficult time or just plain don’t like walking stairs, you can park in the upper parking lot to north side of the movie theater. There is another lot as well on the south side of the theater, however the north side is closer. It will bring you to the restaurant level without having to climb the stairs from the ground level. The walk has no incline involved. Even better, I’ll save my glute workout for another time.

We had dinner at Encanto in El Dorado Hills for the first time and had mixed feelings about our experience. It started off on a high note — the hostess was incredibly friendly and seated us at a lovely table, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
Unfortunately, the service didn’t match that strong first impression. After our waiter initially stopped by for drink orders, we didn’t see him again for quite a while. It took over 15 minutes to receive our drinks, and we eventually had to flag him down to place our food order after sitting for more than half an hour. When he asked if we wanted to start with appetizers at that point, it felt a little out of sync given how long we had already been waiting.
I really enjoyed my burrito — it was flavorful and well prepared. My sister, however, wasn’t impressed with her chicken fajitas. Throughout the meal, our waiter didn’t check in on us, and although we requested drink refills toward the end of the evening, they never arrived. We also had to ask for the check and then wait again to close out.
The ambiance is great and the food (at least mine) was good, but the slow and inattentive service made the evening frustrating. I’m not sure we would return unless the service improves.
The food was absolutely outstanding, fresh, authentic Mexican flavors with a modern twist. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor, from the appetizers to the desserts. The cocktails were top notch too!
It’s not easy to find a place in the area that feels upscale yet family friendly, but this restaurant is it. We’ll definitely be coming back!
At the door, we were greeted by a warm and friendly hostess.
The ambience was upbeat and inviting with a great decor.
Our server was friendly and helpful, recommending several different dishes.
Once the food arrived, I dug right in, before I remembered to take pictures.
Fresh, hot tortilla chips and a spicy homemade salsa helped make it easier to wait for the entree.
The chicken tortilla soup was delicious, deep flavor and just the right amount of heat.
The fish tacos were also delicious.
Plate presentation was appealing and the price was reasonable for the area.
To the business owner, I want to emphasize that your location and interior design are fantastic in all of EDH town center, but I would strongly suggest improving the quality of the food and drinks. This is imperative to the success of a restaurant, and enhance the customer experience. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to give your restaurant another chance in the future.
