The first time we visited was not too long after the JW opened, so I thought that perhaps everything was perfect due to the new staff, equipment, light level of patrons, but then we went back this week and it was even better. Typically, I find that higher end. Restaurants within a hotel are not as good as restaurants that are freestanding. I feel that without the mandatory foot traffic most hotel restaurants would not do well on their own due to average food and inflated prices. The Simon is VERY different from that. I would dine at The Simon even if it wasn’t conveniently within the JW Marriott hotel. The ambience and the finish outs are absolutely gorgeous and I love how the booths are numerous and often curved so it’s a very cozy environment to with just some the right amount of lighting. The kitchen is very open and you can see deep within, and the plating and presentation counter is right there in full view. You can see the staff finishing the plates and it’s wonderful to watch. There’s a cute little room where they hold all the cheeses for which they are knowing . It’s not in my diet at this time, but they are known for their incredible cheese selection. The menu is leather covered front and back with gold embossing. No tables clothes so it feels more modern.
The service is exemplary. I think about 7-8 different people visited our table to bring us various appetizers and drinks and we entrées and clear. Their lemon lavender butter brushed on the yeast rolls is amazing! They will bring you a little appetizer for tasting as well, and everything is plated on a very unique type of vessel.
We ordered the crab salad as an appetizer that was beautifully dressed on a chilled plate. Both times I visited I had the tile fish which is perfectly cooked on a bed of leeks and sprain onions. I don’t make this at home so it’s wonderful to have a restaurant prepared so nicely. My partner had the hanger steak with a watercress salad and ordered the chickpea fries as a side. They were perfectly fried and had a soft texture and came with a roasted red pepper sauce. His hanger steak was wonderfully cooked and you couldn’t even tell that it was that type of cut, it was so tender it almost tasted like a fillet. Both both times we died my partner had the Simmons old-fashioned, which came with a beautiful rose shaped ice cube. He mentioned that it was a particularly good old-fashioned.
We never ordered desserts, but they had a very good variety and were relatively inexpensive. We did have
espresso, which was wonderful.
This is the type of restaurant that you just don’t happen to frequent because you’re staying at the hotel, I would come here regardless
Would recommend the Simon to everyone.
The espresso martini was smooth and not overly sweet. You get that bold espresso flavor with a creamy finish, and it felt crafted rather than rushed.
We also tried the chocolate cake, which was rich & moist. Paired with the espresso martini, it was the perfect dessert moment.
The bar staff was attentive, warm, and professional, which made the whole visit even better. Overall, a beautiful atmosphere, great drinks or a date night, and the dessert itself is worth coming back for!
Brunch was nothing short of fantastic. The pastry basket, eggs Benedict, and omelet were delicious, expertly crafted, and healthy. The refreshing Orange Creamsicle juice was a delightful burst of vibrant color and flavor, while the Protein Blast smoothie was tasty and nutritious. To top off this remarkable meal, the scone served with homemade butter and lemon curd was the perfect finishing touch.
Jean’s exceptional service made the entire experience memorable, and I truly appreciated Chef Tony’s warm hospitality. I can confidently say that The Simon is a remarkable dining destination, and I look forward to revisiting.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Experience at The Simon
The Simon delivers on every level. The food was absolutely outstanding—beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and memorable.
The drinks were just as impressive. Creative, perfectly balanced, and expertly made, they elevated the entire experience and paired wonderfully with the meal.
What truly tied everything together was the service. Attentive, friendly, and professional without ever feeling intrusive. The staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of from start to finish.
Whether you’re going for a special night out or simply want an excellent meal with fantastic cocktails, The Simon is a must-visit. We can’t wait to come back.
