It was a rare beautiful day in December and chose to sit on the nice porch. The server was right there and grabbed our drink orders first. She recommended the fried pickles so we got those to start.
Loved the fried pickles. Plenty of them and great crispy texture, Along with just tasted good.
I chose the mushroom onion burger and substituted onion rings. Only a $1.99 upcharge. I was hoping it would taste as good as it looked when she brought it out. It did! Those onion rings were huge Abe cooked perfectly! The burger was cooked well and tasted good. My only minor complaint is I hate it when a bun overshadows the burger patty. Make the patty slightly bigger. But it tasted really good!
I’ll come back here again!
The inside dining area is small and limited, which can make it tough during peak hours. But I’ll say this — the wait is completely worth it.
One Sunday we visited during the after-church rush, and it was busy busy. We couldn’t find a place to sit and it was a little cold outside, so we opted for to-go. (It might be worth considering some windproof drop-down sides and outdoor heaters to help accommodate during those peak times.) I asked them to call me when the order was ready, and they had our food out to us in about 10 minutes — which honestly surprised me given how packed they were.
Must-tries from what we’ve ordered:
• Fish tacos
• Avocado bacon burger
• Chicken fried steak
All of those have been consistently delicious. The only food downside for us has been the chicken tenders — they taste a bit like the premade, freezer-to-fryer type. Also, on occasion, the waitstaff can get a little caught up in their own conversations instead of fully focusing on customers.
That said, I’m still giving 4 stars because right now it’s easily one of the best places to eat in Bridgeport. If you find yourself in Bridgeport, swing by and try it for yourself — and bonus points for serving breakfast all day!
My husband and I had searched around for the best place to go eat. This place had some really, really good reviews, so we gave it a shot, and I’m so glad we did!! When we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and welcome. As soon as we sat down, we had a nice lady come and get our drink order. We got the Cheese Fries with House Smoked Brisket, and then I got Bacon Avocado Chicken fajita Tacos, and my husband got the cheeseburger basket with a Baked Potato. My goodness, my tacos were so good, and I actually ate them all, and that’s not normal, lol. My husband said his burger was really juicy and the potato was really good. The food came out really fast, and we didn’t have to wait long at all. One of the owners came over and spoke with us and made sure we were okay and enjoyed our food. We will definitely be back! Our ticket was also very decently priced! It’s hard going out to eat right now with how high prices are.
Food arrived very quickly. The okra was extremely soggy. I’ve ordered okra many times and this is the first experience with it being soggy. The seasoning on it is good.
The roll was super soft and warm. Great roll. Rare to find a roll like this in Wise County.
The Vegetable Melody was wonderful. I really enjoyed it. Squash was cooked just right not hard and not mush.
The Smoked Meatloaf was as expected. Smokey flavor tomato topping. The loaf held its form without being tough or dense.
Restaurant has easy parking and an outside sitting area. It was clean and staff was friendly.
