A great hole-in-the-wall Mexican food spot! The food is absolutely delicious—authentic flavors and generous portions. What really stood out was the outstanding customer service. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a hidden gem with great food and even better people!

I was looking for a different location, for pan and tamales i found this one , the tamales are very good spicy sauce on the side didn’t pick alot of pan since they were out of most of my favorites, but the ones i did get were good and soft.

Warning very few people here speak English. I have since moved away but I went here very often for tamales and also Mexican sweet bread.
The service is pretty good and the owners are extremely nice. I end up recommending this place to all my friends and people I meet.

The food was ok but nothing great. My biggest complaint was that the employees took the parking spaces closest to the door, which also happened to be the only covered spaces. Also, no handicap spaces. As a disabled person who visited during a rain storm, I was very unhappy.
When I told the manager that I thought their policy was not customer friendly, he and the employees became rude; saying that no one else had ever complained.
Since the Mexican place just down the road is much better,I will not be back.

We decided to take a trip to look for tamales, it was well worth the drive. The location is on 77 Business just east of IH 35E, off the beaten path. You have to look out for the “Gonzales Bakery” sign. The parking lot is not paved, so watch out for divots and puddles, no Handicap Parking. The Folk’s service was courteous and friendly. The breakfast tacos and burritos were freshly made and awesome, especially with the salsas. The choices of Pan Dulces were ok but nothing exceptional. However the varieties of Empanadas was appealing. The choices of tamales were limited to Pork or Chicken. We were hoping for varieties including: Bean & Cheese, Queso y Rajas. Unfortunately selection was limited, not yet time for varieties but maybe later in December. Supply and demand. The Folks were very accommodating and patient answering our questions. The only issue we had were the flies buzzing around while we were trying to eat, we don’t like to share with insects. We would like to try some Menudo or other menu options , so we will be back to sample some more goodies.

This was are first time coming here. We love the barbacoa and tamales yeah they did have a little meat in it too and the pan dulce was good and soft but the meundo we brought 2 big ones. We get home and open it up there was harding any meat it was half way to the bucket what we pay for we spend 100.00 was not worth it. We know that we won’t be coming back for meundo again I rather go to Duncanville or oak cliff and get what I need over there. I was just trying to find a place around our house to get all what we need. We had family from out of town too. I felt embarrassed but I went and bought some hominy to make it more.

Tamales are No Bueno, I asked for 1/2 dozen pork and got chicken instead, which I was still willing to try. Too much masa, very little chicken and not much seasoning. We will definitely not be buying these tamales again. I’m pretty sure whoever is making these tamales would never serve these tamales to themselves or their family members. The old man at the counter came across as a very unfriendly person. Not sure if he is the owner but if he is, he should stop selling tamales.
The pan dulce is OK bread. Soft bread but not very sweet. Maybe should change the name to pan sin dulce.
Wish it would have been better.
