However, since this is their soft opening, I do have some constructive criticism to give/hope that things will be better in the future. We waited probably around 45 minutes for 2 people – which we expected, since this has been something we’ve been looking forward to for like 2 years.
My biggest request is this: Please please PLEASE make an allergen menu for those of us who need to know what is in our food. That feels like a bare basic for a restaurant to have, even during a soft opening. If not a separate menu to check, please at least put the ingredients on the menu to review as you’re adding things to your cart. If a meat has a marinade, what ingredients are in the marinade.
The conveyer belt sushi was okay, but by the end of our dinner there were multiple dishes that had been opened and revolved without being removed by the kitchen. We were seated as far from the kitchen near the doors, and there were many times that there was NOTHING in the sushi revolution. I would suggest instead ordering your sushi to be sent straight to you. The other conveyers had a lot of options on them, so maybe we just had some very hungry people in front of us.
The kbbq meats were good and the little train that brings it to you is very cute! I just need someone to choose a different horn for the train. The tongs to flip meat are so hard to hold closed for people with bad grip strength. I appreciate that dishes are easy to stack on top of each other because you’ll end up with a lot of used dishes throughout.
Our server was very sweet, but the poor girl was having to do all of the seating/hostessing and after taking us to our seat we were on our own. Didn’t know we could grab dishes and silverware from the ends of the tables. Had to eventually ask for our drinks because despite ordering them through the kiosk, they just weren’t brought to us. There was only one dish that we never received, and it was a fried dish that was supposedly being made fresh. It’s also a little crazy that rice is an extra $1 per dish when it’s probably one of the cheapest dishes to make AYCE.
Overall, I would give maybe like a 3.7 for a soft open so I’m rounding up to a 4. Everyone is still learning, I want to give grace. We’ll do it again in the future!
I was very disappointed. Plenty of other superior AYCE places around and this one I will unfortunately say probably won’t make it they have a tremendous improvement to make before I return.
At 1pm , Sushi tasted very fishy and that indicates to me it’s been pre-assembled and maybe even sitting on the conveyor too long.
Try elsewhere. Too many other choices for this to be at this he price point it is.
Disappointed for sure.
For under $40 per person, you get all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ and sushi, plus select appetizers, which is an amazing value. The only additional charges are drinks, rice, and Wagyu upgrades. Everything we tried was fresh and flavorful, and the interactive grill experience makes it perfect for groups or date nights.
So excited to finally have Korean BBQ in Gainesville. We will definitely be back!
