Grove Tavern was one of the best surprises I’ve had in the area. What really shocked me – in the best way – was how amazing the salads are. I had the Southwest (pictured), and it was outstanding. That said, they also have great burgers and a deep menu with plenty of options.
They run happy hour specials during the week, and there’s a nice bar/restaurant room off to the side if you’re looking for a little more privacy or a quieter setting.
One helpful tip – a lot of people think you have to park on St. Charles, but there’s actually parking out back with an entrance most people don’t realize is there. Just swing around the lot right off Main Street.
Service was great, the staff was friendly, and the overall vibe was spot on. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Dined here last night for the first time. We were very happy with the menu and the items we ordered. The steak salad was delicious and the salmon was quite good. I would have liked the room temperature up just a couple of degrees. Very happy to have a new restaurant to add to our dining rotation.

I absolutely love the layout of the place. It’s clean & cozy. Their service has always been wonderful. I’ve had several items on their menu & it’s always been When it’s nice out, they have a patio to enjoy as well. It’s a beautiful addition to downtown Lombard.

This place is delicious! The menu has variety and every piece is quality. It is cozy and comfortable with cushioned leather seating, and there is dimmed lighting for a sweet ambiance. They have outdoor electric fire warmers. The window walls open up to the patio for a spacious and airy feel in the summertime. The staff is awesome and kind, but most importantly, the owners are kind and amazing people. Their hearts are in it for the families in the area. This is a family oriented amazing little restaurant. You will enjoy it, I just know it!!! They also own the Egg House diners in Lombard, Arlington Heights, and Wood Dale. Super tasty foods there, too!

Was here on a Friday for a late lunch. Great atmosphere & decor. Lots of menu options for everyone. We ordered wings, a smash burger and a French dip. Food came out quickly, and a couple errors were corrected quickly. Great staff and great food, im certain we will be back.

Visited for first time today (lunch) with my husband.
Very friendly employees, good atmosphere.
I had the fried pickle appetizer and Chicken Franchise entree
The appetizer was delicious
While the entree (Chicken Franchise) had a good flavor and the display of it was beautiful, the brocolini was a tad bland and the chicken itself was dry, but overall, I still enjoyed my meal.
I’m not a Karen, and will not return my food, I will keep eating it, because it wasn’t HORRIBLE.
I was also very content with the manager(?) who gave a discount all because I wasn’t too fond of my meal.
THAT is amazing customer service
Overall, still very pleased with experience, and I definitely recommend giving other foods.on the menu a try!

I absolutely enjoyed my time at The Grove. The food and service were amazing.
I travel weekly for work and usually dine alone. More often than not, as a single person at a table, I end up feeling overlooked — like I’m just taking up space in someone’s section. But Mary completely changed that experience.
She was awesome. She joked with me, made great suggestions, and genuinely made me feel welcome. At one point I told her, “Take the wheel — surprise me,” and she did not disappoint. The grilled Chicken Melt was fire.
I haven’t felt that at home in a restaurant in a long time. Huge thank you to Mary and the team for making it such a great night. I’ll absolutely be back

5 stars, ALL THE WAY! A new, YUMMY restaurant in downtown Lombard! Our New FAVORITE! Right across from the train station: The Grove Tavern! Modern, Sleek & Inviting! Spacious indoor dining & bar, plus a Beautiful outdoor patio with shade by 2pm when we arrived. Extensive & impressive menu, WAY MORE than your average bar food, so many items to choose from! Our entrées were amazing! We had the Lemon chicken (very moist) and FABULOUS Shrimp tacos! Welcome to Lombard! The manager, Zara, could not have been nicer! She checked on us several times! Attentive staff and friendly servers!

This will be a “goto” spot for many. Although it appears this restaurant is going through some growing pains it’s a wonderful spot.
The decor is open and fresh with large overhead wood beams and large modern light fixtures with large folding door/windows, ample cold air with doors open on a hot day make seating option plentiful as well as outdoor seating.
The chairs are very inviting with nice large padding and designed for comfort.
The food was extremely well prepared and the ahi tuna was excellent as were the wings, very traditional buffalo or get several other sauces, I picked two and both weee excellent.
Great tasting Chardonnay House wine. I observed many other dishes come out that I absolutely will return to try out. The “mile high meatloaf” was truly impressive looking and I have to try it.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. The music level and content was relaxing and fun.
The location is perfect close by to a couple other excellent restaurants so an excellent option.
The cons: To be fair, they are very newly opened (2 weeks) so this isn’t really a con so much as room to improve!
The food delivery is a bit slow. The drink delivery was frankly unacceptable and needs to be worked out! the drink menu and martinis should be improved. With only five different martinis the selection minimal.
I will return as I do with all my reviews for a second review, hoping this will improve to a five star next time.
