The street tacos were amazing. I ordered carnitas tacos and they were cooked to perfection . They loaded each taco with meat. 3 tacos was plenty. The service was excellent.l and friendly. We had our tacos within 5 minutes. All the condiments are available for you to serve yourself. Their Salsas are fantastic. And the best part, it’s inside of a Mexican market. Authentic, authentic, authentic!

I have been to Sabores for the food three times in the last couple weeks. It’s a mercado (Mexican market) with a full butcher counter and hidden restaurant in the back. This review focuses on the food.

First time I ordered the torta al pastor. Second time was the burrito with barbacoa. Today I had the pupusas which come with re-fried beans and chicharons. Breakfast is now offered in the mornings, and both pozole and menudo is offered all the time. That’s always a good indicator.

All three dishes I had ranged from very good (pastor, chicharons) to great (barbacoa). There is a small salsa bar by the pickup window that also has limes, Mexican oregano, cilantro, onions, etc. Prices are very reasonable and service is pretty quick. Counter service and you bus your own dishware. As others have pointed out, the place is impeccably clean. The atmosphere is extremely casual and no frills. If you’re into Mexican desserts, they have plenty of freshly baked goods to offer.

There are a couple of taco trucks in the area (one next door, one on 60th & Portland), and neither can compete with the food at Sabores. This is quickly becoming my go-to neighborhood spot for real deal Mexican food. It’s basically a smaller Anadale on 76th & Nicollet, but with a slightly better parking situation (street parking is allowed).

If you know, you know. This is a good spot.

My initial review was on the very first day they opened. I’m updating to say that I’ve tried many more food items and they’ve all been yummy! There was a short delay one time and they handled it very well!

I recently visited Sabores de México Taquería y Mercado and I have to say, I’m so excited to have them in the neighborhood! Even though it’s still their soft opening (todays their first day), I can already tell this place has so much potential. The staff was kind and welcoming.

I tried the tamales and they were delicious. I also love the variety of products they offer, from fresh produce to hot deli items like pupusas. They even have a carnicería, taqueria, and small seating area. I’m looking forward to when their bakery is up and running too!

If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by to check it out and support this wonderful, family-owned business. Can’t wait to see how they grow and what other treats they’ll have in store!

Les deseo mucho éxito y estoy emocionado/a de ver cómo crecen!

Food is delicious, fresh, and plentiful. Eating area is basic, in the back of the grocery store, but I think they will outgrow that area eventually. There is a large area in the next room they will probably expand into when that happens.

We are so happy we tried this. We really enjoyed our visit.

First time here for lunch, and will definitely be back!

The food is absolutely fantastic! We had the tInga gordita and pastor chimichanga. The meat was perfectly seasoned, and so tender! 10/10 recommend! I don’t know what the orange and green sauces are, but they are wonderful and add a nice heat to the dishes! Big portions and reasonable prices too!

Other highlights, this place is CLEAN! Everyone was super friendly. I’m highly impressed with everything. My husband says he wants to eat here at least once a week, and I can’t disagree with him, I want to too!

Some of the most delicious tacos I’ve ever had- everything is so fresh and delicious. And beyond the wonderful food, we are so thrilled that they package their to go orders in compostable boxes! It may seem like a small thing, but for us the guilt about waste is one of the big reasons we don’t order take our frequently, so this added bonus has us completely sold ❤️ so thankful to have this gem back up and running in our neighborhood!

Super excited this store opened – it was very much needed! It’s still very brand new, lots of fresh veggies, frozen foods, pantry items that you can’t find in the regular grocery stores. It’s clean, organized, very friendly staff and delicious food. I love the tamales and did I mention they have menudo!

Excellent food at great prices. Everyone is very friendly. I love their al pastor burrito and the tasty sauces that come with it. I’ll definitely try more meats and food items. I’ve not purchased anything from the market yet. Very clean place. Note that there is limited seating in the store but I had takeout.

Went for the first time as I recently moved to the neighborhood and the food was delicious. Best barbacoa I have had in the twin cities. Reasonably priced and the staff was very friendly. Butcher and groceries all look very fresh. Will be returning!!
