I’ve never eaten here, I just woke up this morning looking for big mamma biscuits and a variety of places come up. Destiny had a review I liked wether true or false I will be the judge when I go but I like honest reviews that tell it like it is because I want the people to know the truth and that’s what that felt like so, I’m going to try it and give you! The “lawd have mercy” truth

I came from the DFW metroplex to the Tyler area about two years ago and have been trying to find a good soul food spot out here ever since. Pots n Pans has the perfect home cooking atmosphere, however the food missed the mark. There wasn’t any sort of seasoning on anything. The sides (I had cabbage and black eyed peas) were bland. The oxtails were in desperate need of some tlc and of course seasoning. The jalapeño cornbread was really good though. If I could’ve gotten a whole plate of just the cornbread I would’ve left a better review. It just wasn’t for me, but there were plenty of happy customers coming in and out of the establishment and the restaurant owner and staff had beautiful customer service. My only suggestion would be not to stray away from seasonings; it’s what enhances the soul in soul food.

Great down home service that makes you feel at home and welcome. Everything on the menu was absolutely mouth watering I ordered Smothered Pork Chops with Rice,Cabbage & Gravy and a side of sweet cornbread with a big cup of Grape Kool-Aid. The staff is full of kind and beautiful women that tend to you in a fashion that a person can only find at home!!

I love this amazing place. Down home cooking. The best Grape kool-aid and family style tables. The ambience is nice and reminiscent of a family reunion. We brought an entire group from church today and we all had a great time!
