Today I got to finally try the food at this restaurant not the food truck. I had the seafood platter with green beans and macaroni and cheese with a side of spaghetti. The seafood platter came with two pieces of whiting fish, five pieces of shrimp, five pieces of chicken wings, which I substituted instead of the catfish. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was very welcoming, friendly and the servers were super sweet. The music was a 90’s R&B vibe for sure. My daughter was having a meltdown, they offered cookies and cakes, a piece of cake to calm her while we waited for the food. They gave me her food early so she could eat. I had grape Kool-Aid and water and it took me back to my childhood of drinking red or purple Kool-Aid. I would definitely go again. I wish I could’ve ate my food there, but I had to take it to go and even the food on the drive home held up. I would definitely come here again to me. The food was seasoned just right not too salty not too spicy. Also lemon cake was very good and moist as well.

The catfish was perfect. The spaghetti was just okay. I liked the spaghetti I tried at the actual restaurant much better. The spaghetti in the restaurant tastes like something you’d make at home but not so much at the truck.
Edit: I went again and the cornbread is sooooo good! But the mac n cheese smh it’s like they just threw a whole bunch of salt in it then someone else was like no the goal is hypertension so add MORE! I couldn’t even finish it! I would never ever order the mac n cheese again

I left a review about two weeks ago, and I came back today to give them another try. I’ve since removed my old review because the improvements were noticeable. The food, service, atmosphere, and overall vibe were on point. The pork chops were seasoned perfectly, and the rest of the food was just as good. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The staff listened to the feedback I previously gave and made adjustments. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. You can tell they’re serious about improving and providing a good experience. They recently moved from a food truck into a building, and this is still part of their soft opening that started February 20, so continue to be patient as they work through adjustments. It’s open seating, find a table and a staff member will come take your order. Once your food is ready, they’ll bring it out. There isn’t traditional wait staff checking tables right now, so don’t expect someone to constantly ask if you need anything. Overall, give them a try. They’re growing and getting better. Small suggestion: add Parmesan cheese for the spaghetti to take it up another level. Make this your Sunday go to spot when you don’t feel like getting in the kitchen. Also, for law enforcement and military personnel don’t forget to ask about your discount.

Went to the Westheimer location for dinner last night. The place was not full, but was somewhat busy. There’s a lot of waiting at the counter to get someone to help you. One of the staffers explained that they were still on their soft opening, so the food would take 20-30 minutes. That’s isn’t too long to wait for food, so we had a seat and waited. An hour and a half later, our food still wasn’t ready. They only called our number eventually to tell us they were out of some of the sides. We waited as long as we could but had to leave for a show. Left with no food and no store credit. Hope they get the kinks worked out! It should not take 90 minutes to fry some shrimp. Enjoy the $55 plus tip I donated to your business, I guess.

THE best fried fish and shrimp I’ve had in Houston to date 10/10!!. They chicken was good and the amount of food is more than worth the price.

it’s a food truck in a parking lot with a weed store. It’s a little bit expensive, but it is all real southern soul food. Delicious lamb chops collard greens and fried okra and the cornbread was done just right like my mammy would’ve made it.

I tried this food truck today. I was just hungry and was not expecting to be impressed. Yall shocked me. I really enjoyed my food. I had the Fried Whiting Fish with Mac & cheese and greens. Yall threw in a piece of cornbread. I’m not a lover of cornbread, but that cornbread was soft, moist, and perfect! I hadn’t had Whiting in a long time. Yall fried it some good. Yall did not disappoint. The greens were really good, and I enjoyed the Mac & cheese as well. I will support again and spread the word. Thanks.!!

Delicious and fresh!!! Was craving soul food and I didn’t have to drive 30 minutes in traffic to get it. Pork chops were fried right, spaghetti awesome. I usually have leftovers. I ate it all up. No crumbs! I’ll be back to try more meals for sure.
