Ordered delivery as a compliment to the dinner we already had. The peanut satay sticky rice bowl was quite good, though next time I think we’ll try going with the extra meat and sauce option (+$5 and $2 respectively).
That being said, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get the Thai tea. It is basically milky sugar syrup with someone standing behind you whispering “tea” in your ear as they stab you with a needle to inject diabetes.
Recommendation for the owner: please consider an option for sweetness level. I’ve never had a Thai tea I couldn’t at least tolerate but yours was the first. I’m sure it would be more enjoyable to more people if we had a sweetness option.
Also while I understand the urge (I do the same thing myself too much as an individual), it doesn’t look great from a professional standpoint to get catty back at negative remarks like mine. I wish you best with your business. Please let me know if you ever update your Thai tea options
The owner was super nice and welcoming, and you could tell he really cared about the food and your experience. He recommended the spicy burger and wow… it was off the chain. Tons of flavor, just the right amount of heat, and it somehow made you want another bite even while your mouth was cookin with some thai heat!!
The Thai BBQ fries were also a hit — everyone at the table loved them. Perfectly seasoned, crispy, and addicting. And don’t even get me started on the Thai iced tea — served in mason jars, super refreshing, and they even do refills at a smaller charge which is a nice touch.
Overall, just a really cool spot with a chill vibe, awesome food, and great people. Definitely coming back!!!
The staff are all fun, kind people. I definitely recommend going in!
I first discovered Thai Burger Company as a food truck roaming Balboa Park and the Naval Base San Diego. What originally pulled me in was their rice bun—it’s a total game-changer if you’ve never had one! While my first experience with the “Classic” was good, their new physical restaurant has taken things to a whole different level.
The Food:
Since they opened the storefront, I’ve worked my way through a good chunk of the menu.
• The Tofu Burger: My personal favorite. Even if you aren’t vegetarian, the blend of ingredients and flavors is incredible.
• The Revamped Classic: The owner mentioned they updated the recipe, and they weren’t kidding—it is significantly better than the original food truck version!
• Chicken Satay Fries: Do not skip these.
• The Combo: They offer a solid special with a burger, side, and drink which is my go-to.
The Vibe:
It has a wonderful, authentic family-business atmosphere. The staff is incredibly welcoming; they actually recognize me and remember my “usual” when I walk in.
Pro-Tip:
Grab a stamp card! They reward regulars with a free burger once you fill it up. I keep mine in my car so I never forget it, though an app would be a cool future upgrade.
If you’re looking for a unique food experience that’s different from your standard burger joint, you have to check this place out. I’ve already started bringing my coworkers and friends here! Highly recommended.
I visited Thai Burger Company today and had such a sweet experience. I ordered the Spicy Thai BBQ Chicken Burger, and it was absolutely amazing!
The chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy, the cucumbers added a fresh, satisfying crunch, and the jaew tamarind sauce gave it the perfect savory kick . Honestly, it was mouthwatering — every bite was a little moment of happiness .
But what really made my day was the server, John. He was super funny, genuinely sweet, and somehow made me a little giddy . It’s rare for someone to make a simple meal feel so memorable, but he definitely did..
I’ll definitely be coming back — not just for the burger, but for the little moments that made today feel so special.
See you soon, John 🙂
The owner and chef, Perry, is the best – you’ll be treated like a regular on your first visit and you’ll feel like a regular by your second. Just an overall great establishment run by people who love their community and have a real passion for making quality food. Keep an eye out for their food truck too!
