Nice mom and Papa place. Food is very good and similar to your own home cooking. Not a big place, but it is comfortable once you sit down. We ordered fish and lamb chops. They were delicious and we will certainly come back next time.

Simply THE best food in Cape May! Each dish is perfectly prepared with fresh, local ingredients and quite simply delicious! Every bite is melt -in-your-mouth flavor. House made breads and in house desserts as well. We had Sea Bass and Grouper entrees. Stunning. And the tiramisu is to die for! Hits in every single flavor note. ❤️

The food at Backstreet Simply Delicious was, well, simply delicious! Every dish I tried was bursting with flavor and made with obvious care and attention to detail. The menu offered a variety of options, from classic comfort food to creative culinary delights, catering to a range of tastes and preferences.
What truly set this restaurant apart was the genuine hospitality and personal touch.

This unassuming fine dining restaurant served course after course of delicious soup (crab and corn chowder), salad (warm Goat Cheese salad with house dressing) and entree (salmon and grouper – both were delicious). Service was attentive, friendly and thoughtful. Our server, Coleen pictured below, was helpful with recommendations. The cozy unassuming atmosphere, with BYOB (no corking fee), and comfortable seating rounded out the experience.

Fantastic Food !! The owners came out to greet us to make sure we were well taken care of. The peach cobbler is fantastic and they have a banana foster dessert to die for. The grouper I had was one of the best I have ever had. Not a bad word to say of this place. Staff is polite and make sure you find your experience a positive one. Thanks!!

My friend Joe told me to check out his family’s restaurant while I was vacationing in Cape May and I am so happy I did. Food was amazing. And best crab cakes I’ve ever had! Homemade bread was so yummy that I took some to the beach with me the next day. But shortly after taking this photo, a seagull swiped a piece out of my hand lol. Sea gull approved! Can’t wait to come back next time we are at the Jersey Shore! Highly recommend

I was recommended by my good friend to try Backstreet for dinner and I was not disappointed! The food was delicious (my favorite was the pan fried tomatoes). The staff were warm, friendly, and professional. I enjoyed the ambiance as well, it was a small place which makes it feel more cozy. Will definitely be going back this month after the tourist crowds dissipate.

This restaurant is a wonderful hidden gem in Cape May! It is small but very cozy inside. The service and the food are amazing! We have been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years and have never been disappointed! Highly recommend a visit to Backstreets next time you are in Cape May!

It’s a cute little place with a promising menu, but the goat cheese salad was flat – mostly iceberg lettuce – and the fish entrees were good but nothing special. The bananas foster dessert was cloyingly sweet. The worst part was waiting over 40 minutes between the mediocre salad and the mains. I hope they get better at both the menu and the service, but I doubt we’ll be back.

We take our family to Backstreet all of the time. BYOB is a must, and the servers have no issue setting you up w glasses, wine bucket etc… Gina is our fav!
The food is unmatched as Chef Tee cooks with love. The baby lamb chops, pan fried fish and cheddar encrusted grouper melt in your mouth. Appetizer favorite has to be the fried tomato’s and asperges with lump crab. And leave room for Tony’s banana foster, and the key lime pie !
