It’s hard to find good chimichangas. Let alone fish tacos but this place nailed it! Portion size is relatively reasonable. Will definitely be ordering here again.

I was a bit surprised to find such a small space—it’s mostly a tiny ordering area and a narrow counter with a couple of high stools, where maybe two people can sit and eat, but it didn’t feel very comfortable to stay long.
Also, the prices I saw online or in photos weren’t up to date. Most reviews mentioned the burrito costing around $10, but I ended up paying closer to $15.

No frills Mexican eatery. We ordered takeout. Very friendly gentleman on the phone. The guacamole is excellent. I also had the Vegetarian Enchilada and a Chicken Quesadilla.
The black beans were probably my least favorite because they didn’t have much flavor, but everything was tasty and prepared in a timely manner.
It’s a hole in the wall that you may not notice walking down the street, but if you’re in the mood for some Mexican I would suggest giving this place a try.

This was sooo good! I got the carne enchilada burrito and it was stuffed! Costs about 12 bucks but it was so good. I’m a cheese connoisseur so a little bit more cheese mixed in with the meat would be a dream! Some avocado would also pair great with it … might ask for it next time bcus, ohh yea I’m coming back! I might just go back tomorrow

Orderd Spicy Pork Enchilada , one thing I can say is they know how to put the Enchilada together.
The Tostadas very tasty and beautifully decorated, it had a right amount of everything which made me write this review. Also, they packaged it well to be delivered at home. Amazing job to their chefs out there.

Tiny no frills place, but the food is GOOD! Their fried fish was the best I had in a long time and their lengua came in big tender chunks. Would definitely come back next time I’m craving Mexican. They also accept Zelle.

Hidden gem/legit hole-in-the-wall. I drive 20 min just to pick up from here. Empanadas are lightly battered, tamales are good, quesabirria was great, Tamarindo drink/fish tacos/birria ramen all good, flautas a little dry but maybe bc it was so crispy but still loaded and good.
Absolutely can recommend picking up from here. Parking sucks, have to illegally park and run in quick kinda deal but still, definitely this is a great spot.

Thieves! Hands down the most expensive Mexican food in this town. We have to buy a third plate of food because of how small the portions are. A delivery to feed two people and they wanted to charge $70!!

We’ve tried a lot of authentic Mexican eateries and restaurants in West New York, Union City, Weehawken and North Bergen, many of them very good and even excellent, but Avila’s Taqueria is at another level.
When I had their carnitas for the first time, it was an indescriptible experience… the best carnitas I’ve ever had outside of Mexico!!! After ordering a few times, I visited them in person because I was in the area, and it was even better! Such a clean place and extraordinary service. Very courteous and accommodating. I asked to have some cueritos in the carnitas and they nicely did it. Now I always ask for it.
My wife had cochinita pibil tacos once and she loved it! Apparently it is not available all the time, but it is excellent. The birria tacos are also amazing. Their tacos come in orders of four with double tortillas as it should be!
I strongly recommend this place to anybody who appreciates Mexican cuisine, because there is simply not a better place in miles.

I have probably order from there more than 10 times – I must add that every time consistently great- and never had the time to write a review, but today after having my favorite carnitas for lunch, I couldn’t forgive myself if I don’t take a quick break and share my satisfaction with this place. I wish I could have given them more stars!
