WOW!! This place left me SPEECHLESS! So good I had to come back the next day. I was here visiting and a friend of mine recommended this place because it was some of the best Mexican food on the island with the best ube horchata and while I knew it would be good….I didn’t know it would be so life changing! The music, the food, how welcoming the owner, Marhen (who was so sweet by the way) was to my friends and I including her staff all made this experience so amazing to me. It felt like I had a piece of Mexico with me in Honolulu<3 I'm already looking at flights to come back specifically for this restaurant! They're only open a few days out of the week but so worth the wait! Can't wait to come back soon. 1000000/10

I damn near had tears of joy. I’ve been away from my Mexican culture for years and found this place out of random luck. This is authentic Mexican food! With amazing down to earth family (owners). Ignore the haters. What stood out to me the most was the Mexican hospitality that I grew up with and everything I ordered was delicious. Will definitely be coming back and trying everything on the menu.

Food is amazing and the guy working there was super friendly. I love supporting these kinds of places. Definitely recommend the tamales, tacos, elote, and of course, the horchata!

Listen.. Straight Outta Husk is the definition of doing it right. The food is incredibly fresh, packed with flavor, and you can tell real care goes into every plate. Nothing tastes rushed or generic — it’s that kind of food you keep thinking about after you leave.

On top of that, the owner is super friendly and welcoming, which honestly makes the experience even better. You feel appreciated the moment you order. Every restaurant could take notes on how they run things here — great food, great energy, and genuine hospitality.

I’ll definitely be back, and next time I’m bringing my whole family. Highly recommend.

Lived here for years and ecstatic to find a new go to place. Great service, warm friendly people, and just the most amazing food that you can’t find anywhere else in the whole island. Tamales, mole sauce with richness and depth beyond all expectation! Now I have 3 favorite Mexican places all in Aiea! Couldn’t be happier! As they say, “We’ll be back. A bunch!”

I went to Straight Outta Husk right before lunch and was greeted by the owner and her two adorable daughters. The service was great and quick, and the food was fresh and hot—highly recommend!

I decided to take my order to go, but I did notice a dine-in option inside Palama. The smell of the food was amazing and I couldn’t resist eating it in the car.

I ordered a birria taco, which was delicious! I wish I had ordered more than one! The consommé was incredible—I couldn’t get enough of it and even thought about drinking it after I finished my taco.

I also tried a chorizo and cheese tamal with rice and beans. It was just as good as the birria taco. The portion size was generous, and the price was reasonable. The tamal had a nice heat level—enough to make my mouth tingle but not so spicy that I had to stop eating.

To wash it all down, I ordered an ice-cold horchata, which was super refreshing and paired well with everything. I finished my meal with a slice of their flan, which was equally impressive—*chefs kiss*.

I will definitely be going back to order more delicious food.

Amazing food and authentic flavors!
This place is a hidden gem in Hawaii. The food tastes just like real Mexican home cooking — full of flavor, perfectly seasoned, and made with care. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and know what they’re doing. Every dish I tried was delicious, and the portions were generous too. The staff were friendly and made the whole experience even better. If you’re craving authentic Mexican food, this spot is the one. Highly recommend!

This is my go-to spot after I get my hair cut at nearby Major League barber shop. The food, service, and atmosphere are top-notch. I’ve had the pollo asada and the chorizo & egg tacos, both with rice and beans.

This is a Veteran/family owned business that takes their food creations and customer relations seriously. It is also SoCal Mex-based flavor-wise and takes me back to the neighborhood taco shops in L.A. and San Diego.

I look forward to eventually trying everything on the menu.

Authentic indeed. Everything was delicious. Ordered the Carne Asada burrito and nachos with Horchata and it was very delicious. When you have Mexicans cook at a Mexican restaurant, shoot, you know they gon get it right. Blessings.

Straight Outta Husk is tiny but mighty. You order at the outside window, then if you’re dining in, you take it into the Palama Supermarket food court (same entrance as the market).

Chicken enchiladas + birria burrito were ridiculously good. The plain horchata and ube horchata were perfect—not overly sweet—and I’m not even a sweet tooth but I LOVED the ube one. I didn’t take a pic because it went straight to my belly lololol

The owner was a whole vibe too and even asked who was winning our Pokémon raids.

Out of elote that day, so… we’re definitely coming back.
