I used to stop here just about every day. Unfortunately, between the credit card machine working maybe once a week, the atm not working, the bathroom out of order and sometimes no cook, I’ve stopped going. The main reason I would stop there is because I love a good old fountain drink. That was down for almost a week as well ♀️ The biscuits are good when they have them, though there are a lot of options. It definitely needs some work done on the inside. One of the walls is dry rotted and half gone, and the bathroom is out of order most of the time because of pluming issues. Which makes things a little harder for truck drives, which is one of the things they are supposed to cater to. It’s an easy in and out for trucks with plenty of room for your truck. If you want to park there overnight, you have to pay 20.00. As much traffic that goes up and down 501, especially truck drives, you would think gas stations would be a little better. There are no truck stops, places to take showers, or free parking for us to sleep. All in all, if I had the choice for food, I would go a little ways down the road and choose the next gas station on the right.

The food was just okay I wasn’t wow’d! The waiter spent more time giggling and laughing with the gentlemen who works there rather than ever checking on her tables etc. I sure do miss the accuracy and customer loyalty that Mr. Bennet ran this store with, he had such an awesome staff and team. They believed in customer satisfaction unlike now. God bless his soul!

Puckette’s Place also known as Bennets is a not much more than a convenience store/ gas station that happens to have a small restaurant inside. I’ve only ordered food there once by calling in my order. I got a couple of sausage egg and cheese biscuit and my husband got a couple bacon egg and cheese biscuits and we both got hash browns. They were AWESOME ! ! ! ! But mostly they’re one of my favorite places to go when I need to run in and grab a drink, cigarettes or get gas partly because they’re less than 2 miles from my home but mostly because the people who work there are so nice and because since the start of the covid 19 pandemic they have a mask policy for employees and customers and also provide hand sanitizer at the register for anyone who wants to use it after paying really driving home the fact that they care about their employees and customers.

Don’t like what new owners of 501 ez-in have done to menu. Several items on menu all a la ‘carte. Doesn’t come with chips or fries. I ordered club sandwich, fries and ice tea for lunch. Cost over $11.00 for lunch…never again!!!!!! And now about the club sandwich which I always loved. Club sandwich should always be light and crisp. It was WAY TOO MUCH mayonnaise glopped on it and cheese was melted on bread like a panini. Sandwich was barely appetizing and almost didnt finish it because it was so messy and gooey.
