The club was officially formed in March 1936 by borough residents who emigrated from Portugal. They began holding meetings at a building on Church Street. By 1950, the club outgrew the space on Church Street and purchased the property at 110 Rubber Ave. In 1971, the club started construction of the building that stands today.

This restaurant was awesome. My wife and I went there on a recommendation from a work mate and we were so happy he told us about it. Even though it was a busy night due to the holiday weekend they warmly welcomed us in and treated us like family. The food was amazing. The pictures I posted include paella with lobster, shrimp, scallops, Clams, and mussels. The other one is steak which you actually cook yourself on a hot rock. Our thanks go out to Pedro the owner, Lily at the bar, and both club members named Maria we met that made us feel so special. We can’t wait to go bacK. Thank you so much

We attended my cousin’s wedding here last evening, and it was wonderful! The service was professional and very helpful, the venue was clean, and the decorations were beautiful. The dance floor was large and the vibe amazing, we danced for hours! I also loved the large parking lot, which made everything convenient. We truly enjoyed our time as guests at this location.

Worst festival/ celebration ever. Terribly unorganized. The volunteers were very nice but everything was awful. Waited a long time to get food. Was given the wrong food but was not going to wait on line again. Pork cutlet sandwich was so dry it was inedible. Music and dancing were supposed to start at 7… waited till 8 and it didn’t start. Cut my losses and left. Oh, it seems everyone was saving a seat for everyone so there was no where to sit with food.

This place has dishes I can’t find anywhere else, the pork and clams are amazing, the paella is ridiculously huge, the octopus salad is a steal and one of the best in the area. You get a good amount of food, and it’s all amazing. If you’re looking for a good meal or a drink this is the place to go.
