This place has been my favorite go-to for almost 2 years now! My wife and I love to travel all over the country with Texas being our inevitable favorite for barbecue cuisine, but I tell you that Restoration BBQ VT’s brisket will make you feel like you’re in Texas! We love to pick up 1-2 lbs of brisket to prepare at home in a variety of ways from gourmet sandwiches to taco night. It is a game changer and this place was the exact BBQ place Vermont needed. Try it, you won’t be sorry!

After a long drive from Maine heading home towards New York, we finally found someplace to eat that was both delicious and also not mobbed by throngs of leaf peeping tourists. Rutland has a pretty scarce restaurant scene, so imagine our surprise and delight in finding this bbq joint!
This is the real deal; brisket so tender that it melts in your mouth. I saw the bark on the brisket as he was getting ready to slice it and knew it was going to be amazing.
The brisket nachos and the super trooper sandwich were both delicious. I loved the addition of pickled onions and pickles on the nachos – great flavor! And the sandwich surprised me. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about pineapple coleslaw, but it worked so well! There was just a bit of sweet that balanced all of the flavors very nicely. Hubby loved the mac and cheese; great flavor and thicker, just the way he likes. I had the bbq beans and honestly could have ordered a second container to go. I have no words, except to say they were some of the best I have had anywhere – smoky, sweet, and absolutely delicious.
There are bottled beverages available for purchase, a variety of hot sauces to add if you want, and they also sell maple products (syrup, creme, etc).
The dining area has a handful of booths available if you would like to eat there. Hours are limited to Friday – Sunday, but if you are in the area on any of these 3 days, make it a point to stop by.

The owner was working. Super friendly. Food was fresh, fast, tasty. You get what you pat for. It’s high quality local products. We are a family of 4 and the 2 adults each had a beer. Around $75 with tax before tip. Brisket BBQ sandwich and pepperkacl cheese grits are worth mentioning!!

This place is by far the best BBQ place especially burnt ends!! I love the pork belly ends, yes yes the more fat the happier I am!! Todd is the best and I have spent many moments chatting with him. It is great to walk into a restaurant and get acknowledged by name… Restoration is my 1st stop home after wintering in FL, I have found only one bbq that has good flavor but none to even hold a candle to the size of Restoration burnt ends. Between NY and the Eastern coast down to FL Keys Restoration BBQ will get 5 stars+ for their food and hospitality…

The pineapple coleslaw was sour. The rest of the food was good. My girlfriend and was having a great meal tell the wife and kids came in. We had to leave in the middle of are meal. The kids was screaming and yelling and running all around well the owners stood there eating pizza and doing nothing. Now I see why at 6pm on a Sunday there parking lot is empty. Kids running around a kitchen as a cook I feel sad to have eating there. Cps should go there… no we not going back now.

Absolutely the best BBQ around. Even with no teeth I eat this stuff weekly and absolutely enjoy every savory bite. Restoration Barbeque is made with love and nothing but the best meats and seasonings. This pastrami brisket and homemade creamy Cabot mac n cheese was just to die for!!

Beef Brisket here was definitely the best I’ve had, and I’ve Brisket from New England to southern Alabama. Perfectly cooked, great pricing. 100% recommended to anyone wanting melt-in-your-mouth beef.

Our lunch at Restoration BBQ was perfect! The brisket and pulled purl were so tender, moist, and perfectly smoky. You know it’s good BBQ when you only need a small dollop of sauce. The pickles and pickled onion also good. Pineapple coleslaw delish. And, the cheesecake brownie- wow. Really good food and really sweet people. Local food at its best!
