I have been to so many different Italian restaurants and haven’t been impressed by any of them until now. The 1 negative thing I have to note about Mangia was the somewhat slow service. However, with it being the first evening of memorial weekend I expected much worse!
Honestly EVERYTHING about dinner at Mangia was above and beyond what I expected! The bread was warm, fresh, lightly buttered, and delicious. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and it was AMAZING! The sauce was creamy and very delicious. The shrimp was perfect! The dish came with a spinach leaf and lemon slice as garnishes.
I also tried the top shelf patron margarita and I was highly impressed! It was one of the best margaritas I’ve had and I know my margaritas.
Today just happened to be my dads birthday. The owner of Mangia greeted us as we walked in and spoke to us as well while we were sitting at our table. I mentioned it was his birthday and shortly after the owner walked away out came a heavenly dessert dish!
I don’t have any idea what it was but it was amazing! It had some sort of yellow cake surrounding a light and fluffy mousse, under those layers was a layer of cake that seemed to be soaked in some sort of liquid, which i’m convinced was a type of alcohol. (Rum?) It was so good!
Also, the bathrooms were very clean and good looking! White subway tile leads up the wall to a strip of gorgeous accent tile, with red painted textured walls atop the tile. The stalls and doors are painted with chalkboard paint and guests are encouraged to write or draw on them. (Saves the walls from graffiti too. Win, win!)
I will absolutely be dining here again in the future and I highly recommend it!
P.S. Big screen TV’s throughout the dining room and bar area allow for you to catch the Cardinals game while you dine. Which is great but I’m a Royals fan… But I digress.
5 stars from this fat and happy diner!
Cioppono this close to home was truly a blessing, as it is something I usually only look forward to in California. Desert was going to be a toss up between the lemon cello cake and the gooey butter cake. The gooey butter cake won out but the lemon cello cake held its own too. I loved the idea of sample size servings wish this was an option on the regular menu. #mangiaitalianeatery #camdentongreatfood
