Anyways, my MONSTERA mint latte was good, but the chocolate coffee cake was a bit too dry for me. And service could have been a bit more professional in my opinion.
Unless you’re told, as we were, you would not know to go down stairs to the addition at the back of the building. The addition is quite sizable, and there is lots of seating. This space has plants and gift items in it. The plant selection was not particularly impressive and in fact some of it looked a bit unhealthy. Since we were there for the beverages we did not spend any time carefully looking around at the merchandise .
The reason we made our first trip to The Ground was for the beverages. The Chai tea latte and Carmel Madeleine Latte we had were excellent. We did not try any of the baked goods so I’m unable to provide any kind of comment one way or the other.
As you will see from the interior photographs connected to this review, the place is a little bit bohemian. As an interior designer, I would love to have the opportunity to make the place more comfortable, warm, quiet, and cozy. The furnishings are OK, but certainly not anything to write home about.
Before fore warned, that their parking is limited. Luckily, for us, the bank across the street was not open today (Sunday)and we were able to use their lot
Would I recommend the ground for coffee or another kind of beverage? Absolutely!
Will I return? Definitely.
If you will follow me, you will learn about several coffee shops.
Enjoy!
I love this place, and my goodness that cup of coffee was the best I have ever had. It was a perfect balance of sweetness with the coffee and cold foam, they even added peppermint crumbs on top, which made the entire sight just wonderful. It’s something I’m certainly planning to take my partner to for a nice little coffee date. The pricing wasn’t too bad either, it’s what you’d expect from any coffee shop, but genuinely? With the additional, unexpected add on of the peppermint crumbs was such a nice touch that I’m quite unbothered by the $8 cup.
Overall, this place is worth the visit, although it looks like someone’s home, it adds to the very homelike, cottagecore aesthetic. I absolutely love it and will be back.
I was super excited because it’s only about 5 minutes from my place. The first couple of sips of the latte were great, but then the almond extract flavor kicked in, and that ruined it for me (I’m not a fan of almond extract at all). But the coffee muffin was a hit! It wasn’t dry and had a lot of flavor, though a bit more coffee would’ve made it perfect. The texture contrast between the crunchy top and the soft muffin, especially around the spices, was awesome.
I didn’t want to base my review on just one visit, so I tried to go again on Sunday, but they were closed. Went back on Monday, and the same friendly lady was there. She asked how I liked the drink, and I was honest with her. She then recommended a new drink they were testing out: the white chocolate blackberry latte. I never thought I’d try something like that, but it was amazing! The flavors were perfectly balanced.
I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to try more of their drinks.
I bought the cutest moss ball plant that grows in water! He sits on my desk and is such a conversation starter. I tell everyone he’s my pet plant and his name is Bob Moss
We didn’t eat here, but we enjoyed our coffees. Seating is limited despite the large space. Parking is limited at the coffeeshop, but there’s plenty right across the street within easy walking distance.
