I visited the Topeka area from Kansas City and had Soul Fire noted as one of the food options I wanted to check out. It didn’t disappoint! I wanted to try a variety of meats, and the gentleman running the counter was patient with me as we figured out how to structure my order to try several different foods in small quantities.
I enjoyed all the different meats, and think the pulled pork was especially good. I mixed in extra BBQ sauce with chunks of rib meat, and it blended wonderfully 🙂 Also, the baked beans were just the right amount of spicy for me, with a thick meaty flavor that you’d expect from a BBQ place.
I think they should consider having more seating inside the building, but since most of the orders seemed to be pick-ups to-go, maybe that’s just their business model. Regardless, the food was amazing, and I took it with me to have a sit down outside at the Ted Ensley Gardens, which are only 6-minutes away.

Welcome to THE greatest BBQ in Topeka. These guys make some incredible food that will not leave you hungry. I VERY highly recommend the Soul Fries and Indian tacos. I’m a FAT KID and you only need one taco to have a great meal.

My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time today. Hot, fresh, and incredibly delicious. Portions were large. Friendly staff (owners?). The only negative thing I have to say is that it sucks that I live an hour and a half away from this wonderful gem.

This is/was/will be a GREAT find for a weekend passing through Topeka. Great owner, even better story, and a great start right at the time of COVID and with a humble beginnings in a food truck. The food is amazing. Don’t miss this place. Best of the best. Now if we can only get Guy Fieri to stop in!

Just pulled into town and looking for some good food and Soul Fire did not disappoint. Wife had the pulled pork sandwich and I had the Indian taco with pulled pork. Great flavor and texture to the bbq, excellent coleslaw and the fry bread was amazing!

Just got the rib tip combo for only 12 bucks! …absolutely amazing. Enough to feed 2 ppl. The BBQ is a thick type sauce so it doesn’t run off your meat. Meat quality is amazing . Service was great. I asked questions and he was happy to help. Even gave recommendations.

We were driving through town on our way to Albuquerque and stopped. Glad we did! I had a loaded baked potato with pulled pork delicious and huge!! I stole a bite of my husbands ribs yum!! The owners were friendly and helpful.

Had the rib tips, smoked wings, and brisket sandwich, all very good. No bbq sauce was needed. They only had 3 tables.
