The foods decent, maybe not drive it 30min before eating it would have been better. ‍♀️ maybe the sandwiches are better. I like the eggs better than the grits. I wasn’t fond of the salmons outside texture. The lady was sweet. From outside the window everything looked like it might be good. Will try this place again and try the turkey sausage as I don’t eat pork.

Best portion sizes and prices in the AREA!! I eat out everyday and this place is by far the best bang for your buck. The owner has been in business for 18 years and I see why! Thank you for feeding entire communities at a reasonable price! Will tell all my colleagues and family about this place.

The food was good, the customer service was good but because you’re speaking through a small speaker hole and not directly to the person it’s hard to hear them as they are moving about trying to get orders filled so I think the lady was getting a bit annoyed with me constantly saying “huh?” and “excuse me?” but I couldn’t hear her.
The food is a bit pricey but not overpriced, I think the menu can use a re-do; it’s a bit confusing to read if it’s your first time there + everything doesn’t have a price next to it so you kinda gotta just go with whatever they tell you, and some of the words are faded due to water damage. Overall, I would try them out again.

Wing and catfish nuggets were great. No water. All drinks cost $3.50. Greens was in a half pint. $4.99. They taste different.

TRASH!!!! Cold lumpy grits, eggs cooked to hard salmon cake was cold. Precooked biscuits. Easily one of the worst breakfast places I’ve been to. $12 dollars for food I took two bites of and threw in the trash where it belongs

Hot breakfast, the food is definitely on display. Prices are definitely reasonable. Home cooked food is always amazing. I bought the salmon breakfast with 2 split sausages. If you’re from the westside. You know what Baileys is. This is better than that. Everything is seasoned correctly. I don’t like the taste of too much salt this meal has a great balance. I will return.

Mama’s Soul Food Diner is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it gets! This walk-up diner may not offer dine-in seating, but it more than makes up for it with the quality of its food and service.

I ordered the salmon breakfast, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The salmon was perfectly cooked—flavorful, tender, and seasoned just right. The eggs were fluffy and cooked to perfection, the grits were creamy and satisfying, and the smoked sausage added a delicious, savory touch. The toast was golden and buttery, tying the whole meal together.

The portions were generous, and you can taste the love in every bite. It’s soul food done right—fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Whether you’re grabbing breakfast on the go or picking up a hearty meal to enjoy at home, Mama’s Soul Food Diner will not disappoint. I’ll definitely be back!

I gave it a two star because The food is okay.
Wasn’t bad but could be better

Cabbage was hella spicy (I can taste the Jamaican seasoning )
Gravy bland
Cornbread mushy and tasteless
And turkey leg wasn’t tinder at all .
Yams taste out the can

However, the pricing is outrageous and when I say outrageous , I’m talking way ttoooooo over priced .

First off , it’s a soul food place (there’s not one soul food place I can say is as high as this place ) but I can name some few that’s way more delicious with better quality of the food .

First of all she’s using LUNCH SIZE PLATES AND SELLING DINNER COMBOS .

She’s offering three sides, therefore she’s getting over with the price .

I NORMALLY GET THE BEST SOUL FOOD FROM (A1 SOULFOOD ON MLK BLVD ) very delicious and WAY MORE FOOD WITH REAL DINNER PLATES AND GREAT PRICES
Turkey DINNER THERE IS 12.99 (DINNER) with two turkey wings

IF YOUR READING HEAD OVER TO A1 SOUL FOOD

18.99 plus tax which comes up to 20$ for a lunch plate of turkey wing (AND ITS ONLY ONE WING)
First phone is what she’s serving for 18.99
And second plate is what I got from A1 Soul food
They were out of turkey
Leg quarter dinner is only 7.99
